Bushido Welcomes The Jung Pirates & A New Wave Of Models Soon
January 24, 2016 by brennon
GCT Studios have previewed the first member of a new faction within the world of Bushido. Here we have Buto who used to fight for the Silvermoon Trade Syndicate and now takes to the seas to pillage and steal from those who use the waterways. We also have another great look at upcoming models...
He's looking like a deadly warrior with that axe of his and I would imagine the boat you're on might capsize as soon as he steps on it! I would probably hand my cargo over to him in a heartbeat. Following on from him we have Lady Oka who might find herself being one of the pirates victims...
"Lady Oka is as deadly as she is beautiful. Raised in the luxury of Ryu she is a great power in the court and has learned to use the weapons gifted to her just as expertly as those crafted of polished steel and lacquered wooded in the dojo.
A nimble and dexterous warrior she wields the traditional weapon of a lady of the samurai caste, with a natural ease and elegance. She moves across the battlefield with the poise and grace of a dancer, avoiding blows and missiles as if they were not even there."
In saying that I think she might be more of a handful that you first expect with that deadly glaive of hers. I could see her being very unassuming when you first meet her and then suddenly in a flash of steel she would have your head off.
Following on from her we have some Takashi Houseguard which are guardians of the Perfecture of Ryu of which she is a member. They would be her guards on the roads keeping an eye on her.
I'm not sure that they're going to be quite as up to the task as she is in combat but they might be able to hold their own. I like that they are both very different looking which is always helpful when you have 'mook' type characters to back-up your main force that have the same stats. You don't want to get too confused!
Will you be waiting for more from the Pirates?

Those are really good looking sculpts.
The last two (house guards) are more sculpts from the Rise of the Kage boardgame… the two most frustrating models in the game as the spears were as floppy as *#@% !
The Shadow clan of ninjas has also been spawned from that game and The Docks of Ryu expansion introduced some models which are going to make up the pirate faction – checkout the KS page for an idea of what else may be on the way.

Got a few of them in metal from the KS as addins – looking forward to being able to play them.
Very nice models. 🙂
I’m interested in seeing how the Jung develop in terms of play-style. 🙂
Just getting back into Bushido I haven’t played in a while. Lady Oka will be on my want list.
HELP, needed please I have looked at this game for so long and am thinking of collecting two sides or is there a starter set worth getting. I like models with that cross over appeal and I was thinking of doing something in frostgrave for a different look, same stats just something different, as well as obviously getting them into some of the other games we play.
Any help pointing me at least in the right direction would be appreciated.
Hey Chrisg all the factions (except the Shadow wind clan ninja) have a starter set of around five models, these offer the best value price wise at £29.95. They’re relatively well balanced against each other straight out of the box and I’d suggest going for the two factions you like the look of best. For me it would be the Tengu Descension and Ito clan.
Even the house guard look great!
