New British Highlanders On Kickstarter From Wargamers’ Homestead
November 11, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
Who doesn't like to game with some Highlanders? That's what the fellows from Wargamer'sHomestead thought as well so they've created the WWII Highlanders Battalion Miniatures.
Historically the last time kilts were worn in combat is the Battle of Dunkirk (May 26th, 1940 – June 4th, 1940) by the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, so this project features:
- The Command team (Runnier, Lieutenant, Medic)
- Bayonet Infantry
- Firing Infantry
- Bren Light Machine gunner
- Eureka Miniature, Warlord games, Wargames Factory, Wargamers' Homestead
Whether you want to use these guys for gaming or dioramas, they will be a great addition to a historical collection- and just think of the details you could bring to those kilts!
Will you be adding some British Highlanders to your collection?

Fantastic minis. Kilts were last worn in combat at Dunkirk but remained in use for some on base stuff and formal duties.
Fun fact. The Scot’s wore pink coloured chemical underwear to try and protect their ‘manly regions’ from poison gas. We think poison gas was scary for guys with gas masks and exposed hands but imagine blistering gas that makes your skin peel off while wearing a kilt with nothing under it. (WW1 style)
Couple of gents at Arnhem in 44 wore their kilts for the battle… 🙂
