Brian Boru First King Of The Irish Comes To Gripping Beast’s SAGA
June 13, 2015 by brennon
Gripping Beast have put together an awesome vignette style model for Brian Boru - First High King of the Irish to their line-up of Warlords for SAGA. See what you think of him on a wonderful scenic base by Darren Linington (note: the scenic base is not supplied)...
I think it's a fantastic model seated atop a rock and resting as he surveys the battlefield. While an aged King he was certainly very wise and was so influential that he appeared in the sagas of the Norse-Gaels and Scandinavians. If you're looking for a characterful model this would be perfect.
Will you be picking him up for your Irish warband?

Nice figure. Even if you take out all the mythical and semi historical figures I don’t think Brian Boru was the first High King of Ireland
Lovely figure, Footsore are also doing a version to be released soon.
Nice I will be picking this one up. I have the old vignette of Brian with Brodir about to deliver the fatal blow. Although it’s not clear who actually killed who.
I’ll be adding this miniature to my collection.
Why did Brian Boru die at the battle of Clontarf?
Because the fighting was in tents!
little Boru joke to keep you going there folks 😉
