We had a great email in from a sculptor showing off some of his work and the different stages that went into creating the first miniature in a new range hopefully coming soon. See what you think of Borneo Miniatures rather cool looking lady of leisure...

Concept Art

This was how it started off, as a piece of concept work showing off a rough idea of how the sculpt was going to turn out. It's certainly got a flavour of the horror about it and even a smidgen of Carnevale I reckon! But, this is where the sculpting began and here's the stages it then went through...

As you can see there's a lot of talent that went into creating this piece and I love the amount of detail that's been worked into the skirt, her dress and even the mask itself. Below is the finished piece...

Finished

The finished miniature adds in the chalice and her other hand as well as adding a bit more detail to the sculpt overall. There are between five and seven miniatures planned for the first set by Borneo and all will be hand sculpted and then cast in resin.

This is just the first step right now but I reckon this shows a lot of talent and should be well worth keeping an eye on for the future. I think this would be awesome when painted up with a ghostly look to it!

What do you think?
