Bomb The Battlefield With Deep-Cut’s Scorched Earth Mat Design
September 25, 2019 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio has added a new mat into the mix for those who want to snap up some additional extras for their games of Aeronautica Imperialis. Here we have the new Scorched Earth Mat.
The mat has been designed to be compatible with the 8mm scale of Aeronautica Imperialis (and by extension Adeptus Titanicus) and comes with the hex-grid pattern that you need in order to play the newest edition of this Sci-Fi aerial combat game.
As well as the grid you'll also notice a few nice terrain elements built into the mat including roads and the ruins of structures. You can use this as a guide for dropping your objectives and such onto the tabletop. I also like the addition of some more effects like the cloud cover and the big plumes of smoke billowing up into the sky from targets which have been blasted apart.
If you're looking for a roll-up mat to use with Aeronautica Imperialis this might be a good shout.
What do you think of the new design?
"I also like the addition of some more effects like the cloud cover and the big plumes of smoke billowing up into the sky..."
Looks cool and the hex grid seems non-invasive enough that it could be used for X-Wing
You can buy without the hexes.
yes, via their print on demand thingy. but that would make it 5 Euros more expensive 😉
May work well as a civil war/Raccoon city mat?
I’ve got a couple of Deep-cut Studio’s game mats. They are pretty good quality. I really like this one, so it’s going on my letter to Santa.
Very good, was waiting how long it would take to get a neoprene one with hexes as I have now interest in getting the GW cardboard one for AI.
