Blood And Bayonets Rules Announced By Firelock Games!
December 4, 2024 by brennon
Firelock Games has announced a new set of rules coming in 2025! January 2025 will see the launch of the Kickstarter for Blood And Bayonets which will get you stuck into Napoleonic warfare on the tabletop, both on land and at sea.
Blood And Bayonets // Firelock Games
Blood And Bayonets joins the "Blood &..." family of games from Firelock Games. It is set during the Peninsular Campaign of the Napoleonic Wars where you'll get to command the French, British, Portuguese and Spanish forces.
Infantry Clash // Blood And Bayonets
Your armies will consist of between forty and sixty 28mm miniatures that can be engaged in land battles or perhaps even ship-to-ship battles during boarding actions and the like. If you're a fan of the likes of Sharpe or Hornblower or a dash of Master & Commander then you might find yourself getting stuck into this game.
Ship Battle // Blood And Bayonets
Firelock Games do some fantastic work with their games and the mechanics are always solid. Bringing those rules to the Napoleonic Wars and in particular, the Peninsular Campaign sounds like a brilliant plan and this might end up being the way in for a lot of folks. Having a smaller contingent of miniatures to paint up rather than larger armies might be very popular.

If you're interested in learning more about the game, additional information will be found on the Firelock Games website HERE. There is also an official Blood And Bayonets Facebook Group where the community will be sharing their excitement about the game.
Keep an eye out for that Kickstarter in January 2025!

This is interesting. I’m a fan of Shakoes and Bayonets for Muskets and Tomahawks but this has that link with naval actions which interests me and brings something new to a Napoleonic skirmish system.
As an established company in its field, with probably a good idea of its customer base and producing another instalment in its main game system I don’t see the reason that this has to go to kickstarter. It’s a preorder and if its a preorder then run it like that and save on the Kickstarter fees
Agreed; too many companies run these what are definitely pre-orders, via kickstarter. The guarantee of buy-in must outweigh the fees, I suppose.
I don’t like that format, myself.
Facebook. Completely useless – just have a website for all.
Otherwise looks rather good!
