Black Sun Bring Adrian Smith’s Goblins To Life On Kickstarter
July 16, 2024 by brennon
Black Sun Studios are on Kickstarter right now with a treat for those who love the art of Adrian Smith. His Goblin art has been turned into miniatures by a talented team for hobbyists to have fun with.
Art Of Adrian Smith Goblins // Black Sun Studios
Black Site Studios sculptors and painters have worked with Adrian Smith to bring together a collection of miniatures based on his work. The idea was to "honour the brush strokes, and pencil marks, and create miniature scenes that will allow the collector and painter to connect with the original art". It certainly seems like they have nailed that. Adrian Smith is one of my favourite artists in the realm of tabletop gaming and it's always nice to see his work getting the attention that it deserves.
Pumpkins // Black Sun Studios
There are three different collector's sets for you to choose from as part of the project including Pumpkins, Sentries and Roots. These miniatures are limited and once the campaign has finished, only a small amount will ever be produced. That means that if you want these, you'll want to get involved through the Kickstarter.
You can pledge for just one of the sets or you can get all of them together as a complete collection. Pledges also come with signed prints and certificates alongside the resin miniatures. Talking of the miniatures, they are all 1/24 (75mm) scale and each set features a variety of Goblins that come in different sizes to match the artwork.
Roots // Black Sun Studios
Valentin Zak sculpted Pumpkins, Sentries was sculpted by James W. Cain and Roots was sculpted by Patrick Masson. They are all fantastic pieces of art and the brushwork by Erick Swinson and Arnau Lazaro has really given them life. I think there are going to be a lot of folks eager to pick up these sets so they can test their skills and showcase them on the mantlepiece.

Stickers and various other add-ons are available for you to scoop up from the Kickstarter so if you're looking to help bring this set of miniatures to life, you could bolt on some extra goodies if you wanted. I think it would be quite hard to not just go all in and get all of the sculpts.
The Collection // Black Sun Studios
Let us know if you're one of those people who really enjoy their painting and could see themselves spending hours slaving over these sculpts and making them pop. If I had to make a choice, I'd go with Roots as I think it looks like some of that classic Warhammer regiment box art from back in the day.
Will you be gobbling up some goblins?

Lovely stuff but way beyond my pay grade. And my talents.
Same, same and same sadly.
