Black Site Studios Release New Sludge Wargame Miniatures!
January 24, 2022 by brennon
Metal King Studio's excellently grim wargame, Sludge, now has an official miniatures range thanks to folks at Black Site Studios! You can now pick up an army of the Keth for use in this black powder fantasy 28mm miniatures game.
Sludge Miniatures // Black Site Studios
Sludge has been designed as a convertors dream. You pick up black powder era miniatures and mix them with fantastical elements as well as more medieval options to create armies of soldiers and characters caked in mud, fighting it out in a world of black magic and blood.
Familiarly styled line infantry from the black powder era will form the core of your armies which are then supported by the likes of knights, magicians and all manner of other very weird options. Whilst the game has been designed to be great for kitbashing, some folks might just want to dive in and play. That's where the new Keth Battalion comes in from Black Site Studios...
Keth Battalion // Black Site Studios
The Keth Battalion has been designed alongside Sean from Metal King Studios as a go-to army for someone who wants to get the flavour of this world. It comes with characters, basic infantry, monstrous creatures and cavalry that fit into the design and feel of Sludge.
Keth Command // Black Site Studios
As well as buying the entire Battalion, you can also pick up individual elements of this force if you've already been enjoying doing a bit of kitbashing. It would still be neat to do some converting for the majority of the line infantry but the more specialised elements would be great to pick up. For example, the Keth Crusaders...

...or maybe these utterly fantastic Keth Tallok Riders? This is where you get the unique elements of Sludge and its world flowing into the creative space that is army building.

There is a fair bit more beyond just the Keth for you to check out over on Black Site Studios' webstore. There are options for accessories and more to make gaming in this world a little easier.
If you want to learn more about the game then there is more to discover on the Metal King Studio's website HERE and you can find the rules inside BLASTER: Volume 3 which is available to download now.
We discussed how awesome both this and Turnip28 were last year as concepts as well as games. It's neat to see these now becoming "a thing" that people can dive into and have fun with.
Are you going to be checking out this range?

Ooh they look fabulous with a Moor look to them all.
I like these a lot. Love the style and character. I think these would suit a number of games including 40K and as Martians. Very nice indeed. Well done black site ?
Really like the design and sculpting of these. Can’t seem to find out what they are made of though? The website mentions sprues so presumably not metal but they look like one piece to me, maybe resin?
If they’re like the heads released for this range, they’ll be produced in resin.
Aye resin
PROPER SLUDGE MINIS!!! Sorry, didn’t mean to shout, but it makes me happy to see this game getting more love.
Not available in the UK yet due the postage restrictions…
Aye sad but hopefully they’ll pop up somewhere!

Turbaned terror for flintlock forays and black powder brawls. This pleases me.
I was present for the unleashing of these minis on Twitch and placed my order at once.
I already have a SLUDGE army built from Perry miniatures but I really liked to look and completeness of this brand new army. They really knocked it out of the park with this one. But wait, there’s more to come in the future.
Can’t wait to see these square off with my current army.
