Black Scorpion’s Cutlass! Rules Now FREE To Download
September 20, 2018 by brennon
Black Scorpion Miniatures has made their rules for Cutlass! free to download. You can snag your copy of these skirmish game rules HERE.
This game was one that we actually covered way back in the mists of time alongside Adam Clarke from Black Scorpion. The rules by Gav Thorpe were very cool indeed and it was probably one of the first games to hit the market which used the 'dice statistics' mechanic that has become prevalent in more games since then.
You can play the game with crews of regular Pirates or you can throw in some Fantasy Pirates if you want!
The rules are very simple and easy to get your head around and some of the scenarios in this book are very fun indeed. So, give it a go...especially since it's free!
This new download also comes with an added Preface which talks about using the Tombstone Action Point system if that catches your eye too.
Will you be checking this out?

Free! My favourite price… might try the rules out with some of my pirate mercs from Warmachine.
Looks like a great little game, definitely worth a look and a play, given time.
For the most part the game is quite fun however some things need to be addressed especially in a campaign. I forget some of it but I remember we had to adjust the action points a bit as we quite often rollled extreme numbers which really make the game unfun if it occurs too often. Also we had to limit some upgrades as people often bought multiple parrots which again was unfun.
Over all is was quite fun but we have a few power gamers who refuse to not power build silly things so we stopped playing.
