Black Scorpion Hire Burly Moorland Ogres As Mercenaries
August 28, 2020 by brennon
Black Scorpion Miniatures has updated their website and produced a new set of models for you to use in your Fantasy wargames. The Moorland Ogres are now on the march, a set of burly mercenaries who will fight for anyone who can pay.
Moorland Ogre // Black Scorpion Miniatures
There are four different Ogres available right now from their webstore which can be picked up individually or as a collection if you like too. All of them are crafted in resin and are packed with detail as you can see. They look like they'd be good for all manner of grimdark and more traditional Fantasy settings, admittedly with a fair amount of skulls in the mix.

There are a range of weapon options including halberds, a massive maul and then finally that big spear for sticking folks who annoy them. If you've played a lot of Mordheim then this style would match very well with those warbands who need to hire a bit of muscle. I think if you caked all of these miniatures in dirt and grime, plus a bit of blood for good measure, they would look seriously good on the tabletop.
Are you going to be adding these new Ogres into your collection?

Cracking Ogres, muscles aplenty for your gangs and / or armies, although be sure to give them simple instructions ( kill him, smash that, etc ).
For what it’s worth i think that these ogres are probably 32mm scale given that the other latest releases and the other Breninmoor are miniatures that are given a scale in their description are given a scale of 32mm.
28/32mm – basically the same nowadays. But yes, I’ve amended it.
Fabulous! Anyone know how big they are? A lot of the time ogre models end up being the size of hill giants in the AD&D world.
According to their homepage approx 45mm tall.
Wow, very nice sculpts! I wish tehy would make some more models with ranged weapons, to make a complete Frostgrave warband.
Nice figures and well detailed.
Those are really nice.
