June 18, 2021 by fcostin
I have said it once, and I will say it again. Now is a fantastic time to bury your head into Zombicide. With the release of the new 2nd Edition, and weekly scenarios being updated, the world of the undead is growing bigger and bigger.
CMON has recently announced their collaboration with Aconyte Books in some story-heavy content to get under your skin. Welcoming the first of a set of novels that fans of the Zombicide series will find familiar, and they will be lurking their way into our libraries just before Halloween 2021, with Zombicide: Last Resort.

I personally love when I am able to dip further into lore and backstory to fill a giant puzzle piece of the universe that it belongs in. I am already aware that Danny Trejo is out there fly kicking Zombies, however, the new upcoming novel will certainly tickle my fancy.
The author who is known to many in the tabletop industry, Josh Reynolds, an incredibly established writer due to his involvement with Games Workshop's Black Library has embedded gore and rich backstory, featuring the state of the world in the midst of the zombie apocalypse.
The story takes place on the Adirondack Mountains, as humanity is forced to head out to safety and into hiding outside of the City of New York. The protagonist, Westlake is tough as nails. He is in seek of "The Villa", an established crime hideout where he can tick by the days as they pass in safety... away from the brain eaters! However "The Villa" has other plans for humanities survival, putting Westlake at the helm of a large group of locals avoiding danger at all costs.
The novel is set to release on the 5th October, and available as both a paperback and an ebook for downloads. So if you are looking for your next story-driven adventure, relevant to a world you have lived in to survive the onslaught of zombies: Zombicide: Last Resort promises to keep the theme alive through a deadly tale of survival.
What game series would you like to have a set of novels behind?

Come to the holiday park it’s to die for.
So CMOM is really going into publishing, first comics and now this.
Interesting that they choose something as geenric as Zombicide to start, or maybe beeing generic is the reason they choose it.
There definitely seems to be a move from some companies into other areas – makes sense, potential huge revenue streams if you can get your core consumer to buy more of your stuff, and maybe drag in the casual buyer as well. Wyrd are another company who seem to be diversifying. It’s nice to see – if the product is good – it will be interesting to see if any think they can go down the GW route and go into trying to have streaming services based upon their individual IP. I can certainly see the likes of Malifaux working… Read more »
I can see this will be popular for them however I would suggest the book World War Z by Max Brooks. Don’t bother with the movie the book is written as interviews not a movie plot you won’t be disappointed
