New Big Beetles & A Phantastic Phasing Panther By Otherworld
July 4, 2017 by brennon
Otherworld Miniatures added some beasties onto their webstore for those looking to spook their adventurers down in some dank dungeon. See what you make of this deadly Phase Panther!
Slinking through the shadows this beast will be on you before you know it. A tricky creature to fight, they are quite a predicament for heroes in Dungeons & Dragons. I've used them to great effect to scare players and make them feel unsafe as they bed down for the night.
Beetle Battles
As well as this Phase Panther Otherworld also added two woodland creatures to their range with the Giant Stag Beetle and Giant Flying Stag Beetle.
These could be interesting as an alternative to typical woodland encounters. I like the idea of larger than life insects attacking the players, given renewed vigour and deadly intent by a malevolent woodland spirit.
Have you considered some alternative encounters using insects like this 0r, do you prefer your more traditional monsters?

Seems a bit on the nose on that Displacer Beast. Curious how these guys get on without C&Ds showing up.
good for D&D Baldur’s gate.
The flying stag looks a bit goofy, but I love the scuttling one.
I ever encountered a phase panther in my DnD days so never seen or heard of them before. Looks quite cool and ‘old school’ but not especially my thing.
Love a lot of the large creatures Otherworld do though (and their adventurers)!
