October 25, 2022 by brennon
Warcradle Studios has announced the new set of pre-orders coming soon for the world of Dystopian Wars. These miniatures sets are going to expand your journeys with Sturginium Skies and Hunt For The Prometheus plus you also have some great new Battlefleet Sets.

First up, we have the Sturginium Skies and Hunt For The Prometheus Campaign Boxes which are the perfect way to take that next step if you've recently picked up one of those Starter Sets for Dystopian Wars. Beyond Sturginium Skies expands on the Crown and Imperium forces that you had in the starter set with two Crown Cruisers, two Morgana Assault Submarines and four Excalibur Heavy Destroyers. You also get two massive Hochmeister Vitruvian Colossus for when you want to smash up more boats.
The second of the sets expands on Hunt For The Prometheus and gives you new content for the Enlightened and the Commonwealth.
Beyond Hunt For The Prometheus // Dystopian Wars
This set comes with two of the Marena Vitruvian Colossus alongside four Boyar Heavy Frigates, two Assault Machines, two Advanced Cruisers and two Enlightened Escorts. Again, a nice way for you to build on what was available in the first boxed set from Warcradle, allowing you to play bigger games with more complex machines at your disposal.
Each of the sets also comes with a set of terrain with these Platform kits.
Platforms Terrain Set // Dystopian Wars
This looks like a lovely modular kit that helps to add some "Dystopian Wars-ness" to your tabletops. They are also going to be handy when it comes to diving into each of the campaign booklets that come inside these sets alongside dice, tokens and markers in abundance!

These mean that you'll be able to dive into another campaign after playing through the introductory elements of the requisite boxed sets for Sturginium Skies and Hunt For The Prometheus. I always like these as a good guide as to where you should take your forces going forward when included in sets like these.
Two pretty ace sets for those that liked what they got with the previous boxed sets and want to do more for these two factions. Make sure to keep an eye out for a closer look at these boxed sets and more in the near future right here OnTableTop.
New Battlefleet Sets
In addition to the two Beyond sets, Warcradle is also releasing three new Battlefleet Sets that would be handy for collectors of the Union, Crown and Sultanate. We start with the Protecteur Battlefleet Set.
Protecteur Battlefleet Set // Dystopian Wars
You can expand your Crown force with some interesting Cruisers and Submersibles that can be used to hunt your foes behind enemy lines. The set comes with the Protecteur Submersible Carrier as its big beefy offering alongside the two Canadian Frontline Cruisers (Newfoundland, Bonaventure, Halifax, Toronto or Yukon Class ships) and four Orca Hunter Submarines which are going to be covering the advance of your bigger ships.
The next of the Battlefleets offers up some interesting technology for the Union.
Mexico Battlefleet Set // Dystopian Wars
The Mexico Battlefleet introduces the impressive USS Mexico which is going to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The USS Mexico is supported by (oddly enough) two Union Support Cruisers (Discovery, Roanoke, California, Montgomery or Washington Class). You also get some of my favourites, the Automata. This time around, you have four RC-52 Patriot Automata that will be buzzing over the sea, looking to blast holes in enemy ships.
We cap things off with the small but equally as deadly Retaj Battlefleet Set.
Retaj Battlefleet Set // Dystopian Wars
At the heart of this set is the Retaj Portalship which is crewed entirely by the cult of the Order. Be it science or perhaps something more, it is able to create portals that allow ships to pass through, taking the enemy unawares in the midst of battle. As well as the Retaj Portalship, you'll also get four Carolus Destroyers that are going to be flanking the Portalship, allowing it to do its thing and summon something dreadful into the heart of battle.
More details on these ships can be found over on the latest Warcradle Blog. See what you think of the lore and snap up your Battlefleet of choice soon!

Love the platforms.
The closest an Orca ever came to being a submarine was when Cougar 61 collided with HMCS Chicoutimi back in 2017. I do love all the references to actual Canadian ships though – fingers crossed they bring out some Tribals or 280s.
Crikey that’s a whole lot of lovely stuff ?
Love the idea of campaign booklets. Great idea Warcradle!
I do like the battle fleet sets as it’s great to get those themed fleets going but it’s also the only way to get those named flagships. I’d like to see an option where you can buy those separately.
