Battle Systems Reveal Summer Releases For Core Space
May 20, 2021 by brennon
Battle Systems has put together a little preview of what's coming down the pipeline for their Sci-Fi tabletop game, Core Space. A couple of sets are in the works starting with Black Star Rising.
Black Star Rising // Core Space
Black Star Rising acts as a replacement for the Shift Change set that was previously released by Battle System but have no fear as the elements of that kit will still be available. That content will be available for download later on this year from their resources page.
Within Black Star Rising you'll get four new characters as well as a three-mission narrative campaign to play through. It wouldn't be Core Space without the addition of some fun story elements! With a few little twists here and there in Black Star Rising, this should be fun for those looking to expand their collection.
Wanted: Dead Or Alive
The second set that is due this summer is Wanted: Dead Or Alive which comes with two new deadly NPCs, Nokura and Valian.

When these two hit the tabletop they will have a specific target in mind and will do everything they can to hunt them down. They might even be backed up by some of the Auxiliaries that you see here! These Auxiliaries don't just work for the Bounty Hunters though as you'll also be able to add them into your Trader crews when needed too.
Both of these sets are going to be available for you to snap up later this year from the folks at Battle Systems and of course at friendly local gaming stores. So, if you're eager for more Core Space you won't have to wait long!
What do you make of these sets?

Gorgeous miniatures. That insect guy with bags and the robots are just wonderful.
Looking at CoreSpace is starting to reawaken a sci-fi itch.
Does it suit small bands of 5-6 models per player and have narrative/campaign elements in the gameplay?
Read the article properly “narrative campaign”.
Sold!
It’s a fantastic game (there’s some Let’s Play videos here on the BoW site). Core Space works best as a multiplayer game (lots of chances of “backstabbery”), but Battle Systems is also bringing out First Born this summer (which is more of a solo game). You might be able to late pledge for First Born still (and get it at KickStarter prices). It’s a tad expensive compared to other games (as the terrain is included), and if you want to play the Narrative Campaign in the “Dangerous Days” book you need the three expansions (Zeds, Gal Corp, Purge Infestation), all… Read more »
The whole game is kind of one big narrative campaign ?
It’s an absolutely fantastic game and although you can play solo it’s much better with extra players. I certainly recommend this game really, really highly. In fact Battle Systems are one of my favourite companies, not just because of Core Space but their scenery ranges too
I’m excited for these, and also, more miniatures I can use in Stargrave ?
great bots a controllers with a Doom look to some of them.
I’m 1/2 way through shift change cannot wait to get these.
Great show as ever. The weekend starts here!
I love all their stuff!
