Warlord Games has two new sets of metal miniatures to throw your way if you're going to be getting into their Medieval version of Hail Caesar or indeed Shield Wall. We start with the El Cid Ben Yusuf Black Guard.

El Cid Ben Yusuf Black Guard - Warlord Games

These stubborn and tough fighters went into battle under the command of the peerless Yusuf ibn Tashfin. The focus of the army on the battlefield was mass ranks of spearmen backed up by archers in the rear section of the advancing force.

You will find there are two packs for this unit, giving you flexibility with the make-up of your force and hopefully a way to avoid too many repeat sculpts.

If you're coming at things from the other side of the coin however then they also have the Castillian Armoured Infantry for you to pick up. A stalwart wall against the opposing army.

These warriors were very heavily armoured from the time and fought with a close-knit formation which was designed to break a cavalry charge that thundered into it. You have to have some steel in your bones to take that!

As with the previous set, there are two different options for you here, opening up the array of choices for you as a hobbyist. If you're looking to expand upon your Medieval force and get stuck into this dangerous conflict then you now have two more options.

What do you think of the sets?
