Batman The Animated Series Minis Return From Knight Models!
February 23, 2024 by brennon
Knight Models are bringing back some ace miniatures from their Batman range as well as some interesting sets for those looking to expand their 35mm range. One of my favourite collections they did back in the day was for The Animated Series and thankfully, that is returning!
Batman - The Animated Series Set 1 // Knight Models
This set will be landing soon and contains miniatures for Batman, Harley Quinn, Bat Girl, Catwoman, Green Arrow and Black Canary. I would assume that because they have said that this is Set One, we're going to be getting a Set 2 which contains Robin and more. It would be great to have the full suite of heroes and villains to play some games with.
It has also been confirmed that the miniatures won't be in metal but in the new thermoplastic that Knight Models has been using for their range. I am very excited to snap these up.
Death Metal Knights
As well as The Animated Series collection, there are also some miniatures for the Death Metal Knights.

A great addition to your weird and wonderful collection of Batman miniatures that go in a little bit of a different direction. I do quite like the fully, heavily armed Batman who has decided that trying not to kill is a thing of the past. Some interesting painting projects for you to get stuck into.
If you're looking to be a bit more anti-hero with a side of the villainous then how about the Suicide Squad Vanguard Team?

This set comes with Captain Boomerang, Deathstroke and Ravager. I like their poses where they are in the midst of action or staring down their opponents. There are plenty of new options coming your way when it comes to expanding both the Batman and wider DC side of your 35mm collection.
Could you be tempted by those returning miniatures for The Animated Series?

Like the animated series ones. If they price the plastic more reasonably than the metals that knight sell I might be tempted. not interested in the game, just the minis.
They haven’t made anything in metal in a long time now. They switched over to resin for 2nd edition and now thermoplastic(siocast?) for 3rd edition, which is what they have been using for a few years now.
I love the minis (and I missed them the first time around) but I’m a little torn on whether to get these or not. I’ve painted quite a few of Knight Model’s miniatures, and I find that they usually need a lot of mold line cleanup, which can be difficult with the soft, flexible thermoplastic they use. The smooth surfaces on the animated series designs will need to be pretty flawless if they’re going to look good — I’m not sure if I’m up to the challenge.
