Atlantis Miniatures Preview More Cave Dwelling Orcs & Goblins
April 7, 2015 by brennon
More Orcs & Goblins are coming out of the caves of Atlantis Miniatures as they're showing off the designs for not only the big guys but the little guys too. See what you think of their new render work below...
Big & Tough
First up we'll have a look at the Orcs from Atlantis Miniatures and below you can see one armed with a big heavy hammer and the second sporting a pair of deadly bone (I would imagine they're bone) fighting claws.
I think they've got the right cartoony look of Orcs right and while it's a fairly typical look for them I think they could execute it well. The feeling of the Orcs is more 'Orcs Must Die' than Lord of the Rings of course so I suppose you should see the silly side of this angry looking chaps.
I would say that when it comes to the Orc and the fighting claws you might want to drop the shield as that would be wildly impractical for him to use.
Small But Deadly!
On the Goblin side of the cave we have both a Shaman and a Spearman for these smaller runtish individuals. It would be funny to see the Goblins as top of the pecking order in whatever world Atlantis Miniatures is building and make the Orcs the 'big dumb barbarians' while the little guys have all the smarts.
Once again we've got a more comical 'look' to the Goblins even though they still have very realistic looking faces and body types. I think the Goblins look a lot more realistic than the Orcs actually simply because of their facial expressions. It's a bit eerie!
What do you think of these new greenskins on the way from Atlantis?

Those are looking really promising.
Very nice. Not a fan of the shaman-type goblin, but I like the other one. Feet also look a bit small on all the models. Still, love the more serious style!
Nice take on the Orcs. I agree on the shield with dual claws though, bit impractical.
Cheers for the review and feedback! You’ll be happy to know the team agree with all of the feedback given and we’ll be scaling the feet of all Goblins and removing the shield on our Orc!
