Atlantis Miniatures Look Ahead To February Dwarven Kickstarter
January 15, 2017 by brennon
Some previews of what lies ahead from Atlantis Miniatures have popped up on their Facebook Page as they showed off the Dwarves who are coming to Kickstarter in February.
Two of the Dwarf concepts they have been playing around with are shown off above. They have a nice heroic nature to them and have moved away from the squat nature we're used to seeing in favour of something more in line with how Dungeons & Dragons sees Dwarves. I like it!
Another bit of concept art also popped up showing off Dwarven mounts and some of their ideas for these noble beasts.
Of the three that they have shown off, I think the one on the right or the left would make for awesome mounts. The less 'fussy' look of the one on the right fits more with the idea of a Dwarf who is all about getting the business done!
Will you be keeping an eye on their campaign?

Oh nice …There seems to be an abundance of Dwarf Kickstarters around lately (don’t get me wrong this IS a good thing). Everybody (sensible) loves a dwarf. However I do wish that kickstarter people realised that the other two good fantasy races (Halflings and Gnomes) need some love too. (What the “e” race ?????…. stuff them …. pointy eared filth)
these look awesome. they have nailed it for me with the concepts and I can’t wait to see the minis. fantasy has the ability to transfer to multiple systems that other genres can’t match. I can think of so many uses for these guys. i’m desperate to get Tolkien back into my hobby and I personally prefer the look of these guys and the mierce trolls to the forge world sculpts we have seen. I won’t be in for an army but would certainly look at cherry picking my favourite sculpts.
@beardragon14 moonstone for gnomes mate.
I would much rather they complete their existing Kickstarter before this — as they still owe me quite a bit.
Would be interesting to see how gnome and halfling would be differentiated in fantasy. Recently had two ww1 ks, one had halfling and the other had Gnome, and had some good differences there, both in weapon and uniform, not sure if similar size or not though:
Halflings:

Gnomes:

the dwarfs will look great if they are as good as the drawings.
Thanks for the kind comments guys!

If these dwarves come out as well as the last KS batch did, you guys will be very happy with the miniatures. Of course, I am still waiting for the minotaurs to be created…..
