Arrow & Flash Expansion Comes To Batman Miniatures Game
March 11, 2016 by dracs
If you love super heroes then you have probably been watching the awesome Arrow and the Flash TV shows. Now Knight Models have some good news for all us geeks as they announce an expansion for the Batman Miniatures Game.
If you haven't seen either of these shows, I would say check them out. They are pure comic book fun, especially The Flash, and are doing a good job at establishing a connected TV universe.
What this means in terms of the game is that Knight Models have a ton of new stuff they can draw upon. Both shows have got some great rogue galleries (again, especially The Flash), with hints at a far wider super-power filled environment. How the expansion will effect gameplay will also be cool to see.
Of course, the most interesting part for me will be seeing these characters realised as miniatures. Knight Models have already made one for the Arrow.
It will be great to see The Flash, as well as other characters like Diggle or Captain Cold. However, what has me most excited is that I could finally get me a John Constantine model, due to his cameo in Arrow!
Do you like Knight Models' Batman Miniatures Game? What do you hope to see in this expansion?

The Flash is excellent, Arrow has seriously lost its way. I’m hoping this expansion is the beginning of a rationalisation of KM’s DC line, rather than the hodge podge the BMG currently is.
@redben Is a shame season 3 lost me 2/3rds way through as season 1 and 2 of arrow were brilliant, just don’t see the league of assassins as a primary green arrow antagonist, would have preferred to see more exploration of “poor arrow” and the associated social crusading from the comics and why the hell they went with the whole agent of argus plotline and thats before i even mention dragging Atom into it as played by the guy who makes keanu reaves look animated.
Still at least flash is entertaining 🙂
Things haven’t improved in S4 and if it wasn’t for it sharing the same telly universe as The Flash I’d likely have quit on it by now. It resolved its original storylines and moved away from its original premise and now it doesn’t know what it is beyond just being a fan service show. It badly needs to dump Team Arrow and start again.
@redben Yeah i was pretty much sick of the “scooby gang” to paraphrase buffy and scooby doo mid season 3, especially as they seemed determined to muck up the opportunity of doing red arrow/speedy properly never mind black canary 2.0, although lazarus pits so no one is really dead… Biggest annoyance was constantly mentioning Bludhaven so getting my hopes up for a nightwing appearence but nothing meh! Although seeing how much they appropriate from batman i guess thats a good thing, as i dont think you can say that the sebastion blood plotline was anything but a mashup of hush… Read more »
The only reason the show isn’t Batman is because Time Warner won’t let Batman be the star on a TV show in case it harms the movie brand. Hence we get a Batman clone in Arrow and young Bruce in Gotham. It’s pretty obvious that Arrow started out wanting to the TV version of the Nolan Batman, all street and realistic. Then when the turn came to more comic book style superheroics it struggled with the transition, whereas The Flash was much more comfortable with it.
There are a lot of characters from both series that I would love to see in the BMG. King Shark!!!!
I agree that season 1 and 2 are great and that season 3 was a bit of a mess with things in Arrow. They could have still had a team Arrow but had it be less… the way they operated as a team in Smallville (with the more optimisitc, brighter happier atmosphere) and gone more the batman route (actually kill off a few people and have some people move on to do their own thing and keep things minimalistic). Honestly, Season 4 is better than Season 3 but the tone is moving away from what made this show good. If… Read more »
The recycling of the cast to fit a Team Arrow concept is one of the weakest parts of the Team Arrow concept. The actors weren’t originally cast to be in it and some of them do struggle with it, whilst it stretches credulity to have some of the characters in it. And ‘Olicity’ needs to end asap.
@mage Had a long rant towards the end of season 2 of what i hoped would happen, in my opinion they killed the wrong lance girl, but i always maintained at least one should die permanently. Ive always felt like they couldn’t decide what to do with the speedy/red arrow roll, as pretty much from ep 1 thea has been refereed to as speedy, then roy appears, gets island juiced and hulk(lite) outs from time to time and always appears in a red hoody, so they have never seemed to know which way to go with that. As they like… Read more »
Whilst ive been enjoying arrow (only just finished the second season) and I love BMG, making me obviously excited for this release…
…I’m still waiting on my Mr.Freeze crew 🙁
Sweet. Can’t wait to get my hands on this.
This is surely welcome addition.
Someone minused most of @redben ‘s posts. I fixed that.
Hopefully KM wont keep us waiting too long to deliver a Mr Freeze crew along with Organised Crime as those are still the remaining undelivered crews from the first book. I would like to see the range start to fill out on the TV show versions of characters along with this book as there is a lot of community interest in not just Arrow/Flash characters but the criminal characters from Gotham. The hope had to be that adding in more super powers doesnt detract from the tone of the existing game too much and that KM have a sound strategy… Read more »
