Arrayed Ranks Of Landsknecht Pikemen Come To Pike & Shotte Soon
July 4, 2017 by brennon
Warlord Games has been previewing a few of the upcoming models for their multitude of ranges and one of them was for these new Landsknecht Pikemen for Pike & Shotte...
It looks like we're going to be getting a new plastic set for these Pikemen to start building up your forces on the tabletop. As well as the command element which we get to see here there's also a look at how the basic pikemen will measure up too.
These mercenary soldiers had quite the formidable reputation during the 15th & 16th Century. They have quite the storied history behind them and you could find them fighting for all manner of different factions during the period.
What do you think of the preview so far?

awwwww please do an unboxing of these!!
I wonder if these might be useable for an Empire army?
Warlord are generally smaller than GW figs, so they’d not likely mix. If you do an army from scratch and get your characters from elsewhere (say, wizards from HF or Heresy) I reckon you’d have an enviable army.
Finally..it’s been taking ages for them to become reality!
I’ve had invested quite a bit in the hapless Pro Gloria Indigogo campaign at the time.
Shame it didn’t took off then. Plastic Landsknechts is another hobby dream come true 😎
Aha! These are the … legacy of the Pro-Gloria campaign?
That they are.
Since you mentioned scale differences above, I wonder how Pro Gloria’s designs were concerning scale and if Warlord changed much. Actually, if they changed anything and what and why. 🙂
Ah they missed the best part of the Landsknecht. The Codpiece. Landsknecht were extremely outlandish and quite rich and they really went overboard.
Some of them would wear a 6 inch long codpiece that resembled a ah “Gentleman Sausage” and had a wine flask in them. The longest recorded was by a 16th century Swedish merchant that was 23 inches long. The would be a really cool Age of Sigmar army with a potential opening to get into historical games likes Pikemans Lament.
