Snap Up Army Painter’s Speedpaint Mega Set 2.0 In April
February 7, 2023 by brennon
If you want even more Speedpaint in your collection for working on getting your armies finished double quick, The Army Painter are now taking pre-orders for Speedpaint Mega Set 2.0 which has a release date of April 2023.
Speedpaint Mega Set 2.0 // The Army Painter
This set comes with a whole host of new paints for you to dive into that expand the Speedpaint range significantly. There are forty-five new colours for you to choose from alongside three metallic options and one set of Speedpaint medium. As is the way with Speedpaint, the idea is to apply one single coat to a primed miniature and you'll be done. All the shades and highlights are taken care of thanks to the formula of these paints.

Above, you can see a breakdown of the different paints that you'll get in the set. I am most intrigued by the three Metallic Speedpaints with Hoplite Gold, Talos Bronze and Broadsword Silver. It will be fun to see how those work in particular.
All of the paints in this set come pre-loaded with mixing balls meaning that it should be easy to get the right consistency of paint. Additionally, if you pre-order this set then you'll also get a Speedpaint Brush and a Hard Plastic Palette too.
Contrast, Speedpaint and the like are great new options for painters and hobbyists. They mean that miniatures, especially those from board games, can get painted up quickly and easily without much fuss. If you want to go further, you can also use the likes of Speedpaint as just another tool in the arsenal, enabling you to do nice wet blending techniques and more to make your miniatures pop.
Could you be tempted by a big Mega Set for Speedpaint 2.0? Are you going to wait until you can snap up a smaller set instead? Make sure to explore the larger Speedpaint range HERE.

Yep, need that!
Ooh Wow that’s some great set.
Free brush im sold! 😀
It will be interesting to see how these perform now they have been updated, if the issues are resolved them i may pick a few up for specific uses, I’d still love to see more historical colours added to the range, FIELDGRAY!!
I’m hoping the new bottles are identifiable as 2.0 otherwise its going to cause a world of pain with people confused or sellers palming off old stock.
I’m Intrigued too by the Metallic Speedpaints, i’ll have to check this out in april then!
I have tried the speed paints. They cover nicely but the problem with re-activation means I won’t be buying any more. I have not had the same issues with GW contrast paints.
I love my Speedpaints so will definitely be getting these as well. No due to deliver until late April though so plenty of time to think up new paint schemes in the meantime.
