Armoured Gauls Join The Barbarian Invasion From Victrix
January 27, 2017 by brennon
Victrix have put some folks worries to bed as they revealed some previews of the Armoured Gauls which will be coming to their plastic range soon.
First off we have this leader character armoured up in chainmail with a very fancy hat. You could see him leading a warband into battle or at the front of a regiment ready to charge into the Roman ranks.
Of course, not all armour is going to be crafted by the Gauls themselves as they also stole some from the Romans they slaughtered.
Here you can see some warriors who have picked up helmets. I like the idea that as you fight battles through a campaign you could add more of these warriors to your collection to symbolise them taking the spoils of war.
What do you think?

nice figures.
nice!! Victrix are pulling of some tremendous stuff
Pilfered Roman helmets – memories of Obelix ‘collecting’ them as trophies
Great looking minis!
Yes by Jupiter!
The armoured celt looks like a fine sort of chap. I feel it fair to point out that the Celts are thought to have invented chainmail and the Romans copied theirs from them. Also the standard Roman helmet pattern after the conquest of Gaul (such as Asterix collected in stacks) was an adaption of the style the Celts used there and is known as the “Gallic Type” helmet. I’m all for slaughtering Romans but hopefully there won’t be too many with recognisably “found” items as my Celts are a pre-conquest Cisalpine force.
Nice additions for my Carthaginian army 🙂
Victrix are making some cracking figures
