Armoured Algoryn Infantry On The Way For Antares Next Year
December 14, 2016 by brennon
Warlord Games let us take a sneaky peek at what's ahead for Beyond The Gates Of Antares next year. The Algoryn are going to get their Armoured Infantry boxed set sporting a neat collection of miniatures.
As you can see they are a deadly force covered in heavy armour and sporting evil looking helms. The design of the characters looks great and further reinforces why the Algoryn are one of the best-looking forces for Beyond The Gates Of Antares.
The work on the facial features for their leader character also has come on quite a bit from the original models. These miniatures should be out next year in January so if you want to snap them up keep some funds spare!
What do you think of them?

Those are very good.
They do look pretty cool. Now they have done plastic Algoryn I may well take the plunge…
Big improvement over original Algoryn heads. Warlord have really upped their game as far as BtGoA goes over the past year. This may well tempt me to look at Algoryn as an additional faction …..sigh (I am such a hobby tart)
They do appear to be very nice plastics. A few guys got a sample sprue at Warlord’s Antares Bootcamp over the weekend and seem to be quite pleased with what they’ve gotten.
I like that they are close enough to the original metals to not really stand out in a squad, but different enough to add some variety.
I wonder what options they have.
5 troopers, 5 mag guns, 2 mag repeaters, 2 micro-x launchers, 1 mag pistol and 1 x-sling
Thanks. I assume thats like 2 special weapons and then some squad leader options?
No idea about Antares yet though just picked up a copy of their starter game for £35! Oh yeah 😀
The Mag Gun is your basic option. Pistol and X-sling are leader upgrades (but he can also have a mag gun or mag repeater). X-Launchers are special weapons, and very useful ones with access to a few types of ammo upgrades, (x-sling gets these upgrades, too)
Especially if you’re just getting into the game, it’s worth looking at the Strike on Kar’A Nine introductory set which includes 15 of these AI troops as well as some C3 troops and all the other stuff you need to give the game a go.
I understand that these plastic ones come with all the options an AI squad can have, so they’re pretty flexible models.
great looking armoured alien.
They do look rather tasty, and improvement over the initial metals, but I am always mildly amused by the habit of gaming companies to equip NCO’s and officers with only pistols for weapons, because we’re apparently all still in 1918.
Good way to add additional forces to my Algoryn AI troops
