Antimatter Games Adds Some “Big” Terrain To DeepWars
August 1, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
I think the absolute best part of the underwater world of DeepWars from Antimatter Games is that you get to play on a table that looks like none other. The game allows for vibrant and colorful terrain to depict that which lies below the water surface. To this point, it is the ocean after all, and the circle of life is part of the story, so not all terrain may be pretty.
Antimatter has just released images of their Whale Carcass, which was part of their recent Blood Reef Kickstarter. This scenic item will be cast in resin and is 240mm in length, and if you missed out on the KS, you can still join through their "pitch-in" pledge link on their page.
"Whales that die and sink to the abyssal depths become rotting hulks on the bottom, their carcasses slowly consumed by masses of deep-sea scavengers, Whale carcasses in DeepWars harbor multitudes of Giant Hagfish, disgusting eel-like creatures with powerful jaws that tear through flesh with ease.
Divers that venture near whale carcasses must beware or become scavenged by these creatures as well."
Will you be adding this rotting monster to your ocean floor?

That’s definitely something you don’t see on a gaming table every day! And pretty cool it is too!
I really like it. The guys at Antimatter said they might be bringing it along to GenCon with them so we can have a closer look.
@ravingmad8
We have a chat scheduled with them, so we’ll be sure to look for it!
Love it, love it, love it. DeepWars is such a unique setting, one of the true gems to come out of crowdfunding in my opinion. Eric has done a great job on this sculpt, hardly surprising given his background in marine biology 😉
Luckily there’s also a regular, land-based variant of the game called ShadowSea, which uses the same modified version of the Song of Blade and Heroes ruleset.
Is it weird that this is the thing that’s finally made me take an interest in Deep Wars?
That’s a super interesting piece of terrain! Just had a look at DeepWars too – some beautiful sculpts happening over there.
