Antediluvian Miniatures has been working on their Historical collection a little more and you can now pick up a few new Scottish Archers for use during the Medieval period. The first collection is a set of Wars Of The Bruce’s Bowmen.

This set gives you four 28mm archers who are drawing, loading and firing their arrows into the midst of enemy clansmen and of course, the dastardly English. As I have said on many occasions, I do like archers in wargames and I think all the poses here are spot on. I particularly like the fellow leaning back and firing an arrow up into the air.
You can also pick up a set of unique Highland Bowmen too. These are all armed with bows but come armoured in different ways. You have some here wearing their padded armour whilst one has a set of chainmail covering his body.

I'm not too fond of the fellows with the helmets on but I do like the other two. I think if you're looking to put together a band of ruffians then these two, in particular, would work very well. This does build on their now hefty collection of Scottish miniatures meaning that you should be able to put together quite the warband.
Are you going to be picking these up?

Mmm nice but Scotland is not well know for archery battles we prefer to get in about them.
Oooh, nice! Scottish archery is often overlooked but they were really important – most archers came from the lowlands but they provided an important skirmish screen for the schiltrons. Chase away the Scottish archers and you leave the schiltrons isolated and vulnerable to your own missile troops and to being outflanked by English cavalry, they are then left with the difficult choice of maintaining the position under fire or charging pel mel into the enemy in the hopes of forcing a decisive outcome. Got to hand it to Edward I, he did a lot to introduce an element of combined… Read more »
7 pounds for a set of 4 that is damn good prefect for a lot of games super for something like Frostgrave
I have no interest in medieval wargaming but these might be enough to make me reconsider. Beautiful and characterful sculpts. Someone is going to have to do very well to beat these as the best sculpts of 2021.
