Antediluvian Preview New Wars Of The Bruces Spearmen
September 18, 2019 by brennon
Antediluvian Miniatures has been previewed a few of the new sculpts coming out to support their Wars Of The Bruces range which sends you headlong into the battles in Scotland and across the border into England during the 1300s.
This new set of models show off Armoured Spearmen, clad in full chainmail and ready to receive the charge of enemy cavalry or a band of angry English swordsmen.
Sculpted by the very talented Matt Bickley these are some stunning miniatures which are packed full of character, especially for what equates to rank and file infantry. They have also been posed so you can get them arranged in a proper schiltron, a bristling hedgehog of spears and pikes which would have been hell to charge into.
The collection from Antediluvian which can be seen in full HERE is already packed with an array of characters, troops and more for battling during this period as the Scottish. As someone with a bit of Scottish blood running through his veins (distantly), I do like a bit of support for these plucky highlanders. Admittedly it doesn't end up going too well when I support them in the rugby but less said about that the better.
I think this is a fantastic range and it's really good to see more of the Medieval period coming to the fore once again. We've seen a lot focused on the fighting in the Dark Age and Ancient period over recent years and anything Medieval has almost been focused on the Crusades. So, it's good to see the fighting throughout Britain and Europe becoming a focal point once more.
What do you make of these new models?

great looking troops.
Those are superb. Any earlyish medieval army would love these
Those look really nice.
Bruce? Are them all Australians?
all of them, that’s what makes Mel Gibson type casting in Braveheart
The mail on these is lovely and some sexy beardage – on the list!
They are gorgeous sculpts. I think I just felt my wallet break…
Seriously. I’m not backing the kickstarter. I’m not buying these. I’m not buying anything from Claymore Castings. Leave me alone.
beautiful alternative models for bretonnian Men at arms 😉
Great looking sculpts. Very nice indeed
