Antediluvian Miniatures Unleash The Flailing Decapod
November 4, 2019 by brennon
Antediluvian Miniatures has unleashed a strange creature onto their webstore as the flailing Decapod becomes a new option for monster slaying barbarians in your Fantasy games.
The Decapod looks like has either been dreamt up by the BBC Doctor Who monster department or dredged from the depths of a classic dungeon-delving adventure from yesteryear. It looks totally mad and would be a uniquely interesting creature to see pop up in a dungeon crawl.
Here you can see the Decapod and how it compares against a standard reference barbarian who seems to, if anything, have spooked the Decapod by wandering into its lair.
What do you make of this new monster from the mad minds at Antediluvian Miniatures? I think it is genuinely hilarious and would make for a very fun addition to someone's collection, especially if you like old school adventuring.
Are you going to be snapping this up?

Oh, that poor thing just wants to hug you….
I know this thing is supposed to be seen as a threat in a typical dungeon crawler, but all I can do is laugh when I see the goofy face it’s making. In the bottom picture, I can just imagine it saying, “OH MY GOSH, YOU LIKE STAR TREK TOO? WE SHOULD TOTALLY HANG OUT!!” while the barbarian is slowly backing away.
It’s brilliant, but it does look rather like Jim Henson created it and Frank Oz is doing the voice…
