Make sure to stay on the lookout for an announcement about Dropzone Commander today from TTCombat. It will be over on their Facebook Page so stay tuned to that for more information.
You can still get your hands on all things Dropzone Commander from their webstore, but it will be interesting to know what's around the corner for the new owners.
Will you be tuning in to find out what the news is?

What ever it is @brennon it has to be more exciting than than my old workplaces , all staff to stay till 5pm for an important announcement!
To be told that someone you’ve never met , do not know, works in a different town/county etc
is now no longer going to be a man but will hence forth be ……….
or a similar thing , and they’ve got the sack for clipping coupons!
Specially as everyone all afternoon hoped it was redundancies!
Unfortunately I got side tracked and missed most of it, but the main thing is they are delaying the release of DzC V2 until 2019. I missed the reason.
There will be a third sourcebook that finishes off this phase of the DZ story – and lays the groundwork for ‘something else’.
The release for v 2.0 has been pushed back, but will apparently receive lots of TLC.
There will be a Beta ruleset released around Adepticon time.
Is Dave still part of it? Didn’t watch it all as those two were fairly boring (they didn’t have the passion Dave does)… but it seemed one of them is now the games designer?
Dave is very much still involved it’s his baby
That’s great, just seemed a bit weird that he wasn’t in the video. Plus after the kickstarter limited edition shenanigans I wouldn’t be surprised as to be honest I couldn’t believe Dave would do that to his backers.
From Facebook the synopsis
-Dropzone v2 pushed to 2019 to make it a proper 2nd edition
-V2 open beta available shortly
-New expansion book covering Zone and Fleet this year
-Invasion UK returns in October as TTCon
-US distribution to be addressed directly at Adepticon
-Princess Cruise Liner scenario posted on TTC website
-Centurian rules update available as well
-Andy Chambers and Dave Lewis still primary rules writers
-Another live cast next Friday at the same time to address community questions
I aired legitimate concerns for the current state of Hawk wargames. Why was my comment pulled? I certainly didn’t say anything offensive. I am just a worried gamer who sank a lot of money into Dropfleet Commander.
Why would TTCombat comment on another company?
Which other company? Having sunk a lot of money into Dropfleet as well I am quite interested in what the comment was.
probably because Hawk wargames doesn’t exist any longer as an entity. So there is no state of Hawk wargames to comment on.
^^ This. TTCombat acquired Hawk something like 6 months ago now and are the owners & operators of the “Drop Commander” universe.
Dave Lewis is working for them in a lead designer role, Hawk’s artist Patrice is still on the team & Andy Chambers is still involved on the Dropfleet rules.
not what I was told yesterday was told that ALL hawk wargames staff have been let go this could be a big blow
I didn’t catch the live stream but based on what’s written here for me this sounds pretty good. Dropzone doesn’t desperately need a second edition, it is much better to do it properly and have it well tested. Hopefully the new source book will spark more interest in both games.
Using my PHR stealthsuit I infiltrated TTCombat and discovered that dreadnoughts, superdreadnoughts, monitors and space-armoured mankinis are on the DFC to-do list 🙂
They also said they were planning releases for the next 3 years so that shows commitment to the game.
This was a hugely positive point in the announcement. Hawk were a bit haphazard in their long term planning, TTCombat really seem to have it down.
There was also positive comments in the form of the limited edition Centurion cruisers sold over three times what TTCombat expected prompting them to expand their resin casting team, and they are in the process of a major expansion in their warehousing capacity. They owned the adjacent warehouse already but were renting it out until they needed it. I’m encouraged!
yes, they said a lot of things TankKommander, many promises given and ew models touted. However, they have done nothing to honour the back orders they have had for the past 6 months. How about dropping their customers an email with an update on how things are going with their orders and give a possible ETA. Is that really too much to ask? Am I really being unreasonable BOW? I had high hopes for Dropfleet Commander and now I am considering going to the small claims court to get my money back, then go back to playing Star Wars Armada… Read more »
