Anima Tactics Gets Cursed Archer October In July!
June 23, 2014 by brennon
As strange as that sounds it's actually accurate. The cursed archer for Anima Tactics, October, is coming to the tabletop in July. So essentially autumn is coming early and this assassin is out to murder so he himself can keep on living...
The miniature itself isn't as delicate and spindly as the artwork but that's probably because it would just fall apart if they did that. I like the idea of the character and the look of him combined with the story is very anime and in keeping with their world.
He has a little case of foot-on-rock syndrome but apart from that I don't think this is a bad character at all. It's a shame that I don't hear many people talking about this game but maybe I'm wrong and it has a loyal following!
If you play Anima Tactics let me know!

It’s a shame it seems to have lost a bunch of his cool details, notably the cape lost its dynamism
yeah, I don’t know why it took me so long to see the cape was missing 😛 ha ha
the pose is quite nice, but the cape would have made it look a lot more dynamic 🙂
I bought a few of the miniatures out of curiosity, but I still haven’t assembled them because they are quite fiddly, and I don’t play the game.
I also feel that some of the minis come out a bit disappointing next to the awesome artwork.
Although I love the conceptual art of Anima Tactics I always feel the figures fall short. This is usually, as Brennon pointed out, because it would be bloody hard to make something that would stand up to being handled on the tabletop. In essence the concept art raises the expectation too high.
This is the main reason I stuck with Infinity for my anime-esque fix because their miniatures often exceed the expectation set by the artist!
