Victrix Limited has broken down the sprue design for a lot of their upcoming plastic kits. If you're looking to build up a full Persian wargaming army in plastic which can battle against the Ancient Greeks then this might be the range for you.

Persian Unarmoured Spearmen Sprue

First up, we have a selection of infantry elements for you to use in your force. Above, you can see the Unarmoured Spearmen who come with their larger shields which are good for holding the front rank as well as options for skirmish variants too. You can also give a few of them some hand weapons like axes and picks which are good for when the fighting gets fierce.

You've also got yourself the Armoured version of these Persian Spearmen too. You'll notice more of that padded and leather armour across their chests which means they might work best in the middle of your army. Once again, you've also got the option to arm these fellows with weapons other than spears too.

Persian Archers - Covering The Advance

As well as the Spearmen, you'll also have the other bastion of any army, the Archers. Much like with the set above, you've got the Unarmoured Archers...

...and then you've also got the Armoured version of these Archers too. Again, this gives you both the rank and file options dragged from their fields and then those who have managed to put a little bit of money towards their equipment.

This is another of those wonderful Ancient armies that would be very different from your traditionally bronze armoured individuals. I like that you've got to paint lots of patterns across the clothing they wear, really adding to the vibrance of your army. I wish you look on that freehand!

Persian Plastics Taking Command

In addition to both the Armoured and Unarmoured Persian plastics which are coming your way, you will also get a Command Sprue which allows you to build leader figures for your force.

This is another fun little option for those diving in to play with building a Persian army. As well as these being used to make Command elements for both the Archers and Spearmen, you could also use this to kitbash together your own leader for a skirmishing force that goes beyond just a unit leader and his companions.
