Let Anakin Skywalker Lead Your Star Wars Clone Army Soon
October 26, 2020 by brennon
Fantasy Flight's Star Wars: Legion and the Clone Wars expands with new choices for the Republic and Separatists soon. One such leader is Anakin Skywalker, The Chosen One, who can take command of your army and lead it to victory against those damnable droids!

The new miniature comes with two choices of pose. You can either have him with hand outstretched, ready to blast away his foes with Force powers or with lightsabre raised in a guard. In both cases, you've got a good version of Anakin from the very depths of the Clone Wars, battling alongside Rex and the rest of the 501st.
They have managed to get a good mix of looks into the sculpt for Anakin here where it clearly resembles the movie version but with something of the cartoon too. I think the character looks super cool and I think he'll be an awful lot of fun to paint up. Make sure you don't put too much sand on that base though.
Anakin's set, of course, comes with a new bunch of cards which show off how badass he is.
Anakin Skywalker Stat Cards // Star Wars: Legion
Anakin comes with his edge of Djem So Mastery which makes him pretty darn good at countering your opponents. he also comes in with a few flavourful options which hint towards his dark side. I like the new Flawed rule and Tempted which allows him to embrace powers used by the Sith!
Anakin Skywalker Command Cards // Star Wars: Legion
Anakin also comes with a bunch of fun new Command Cards for you to throw into the mix. In a twist, they also have permanent abilities tied into them. These help to show the development of Anakin throughout his time fighting in the Clone Wars and also just how reckless he is. It makes Anakin feel like a fun character to play with in-game and adds an element of risk and reward too.
Are you tempted to snap up Anakin to lead your Clone Wars army?

That looks really nice. Big plus that as miniature he can’t be whiny like he is in movies so he can be more like he is in The Clone Wars cartoon.
Definitely on the list when I move to the Clone Wars era for SW Legion.
Nice.
Really clever posing to get two such distinct silhouettes
Should make for some cool dioramas/action shots on the tabletop
As far as I have seen current announcements on single figure releases that kind of options in poses and heads will be seen more often. Just take a look at the Darth Maul and the just announced Luke Skywalker Limited Edition.
It’s a very good idea to help mix up the kind of main characters you see on the tabletop.
with the parts, you can actually make 2 Anakin figures, look at the options and you see that all you need is another pair of legs. Or you can make a version of him after losing the high ground ( sorry, had to say it and could not resist )
It looks to me like you just get two sets of arms to pick from. Legs, torso and head are the same in both poses.
Nice mini definitely needs a sand/desert base 😉
So his cards have the ” Permanent ” keyword on them, meaning that if played in round order ( whether or not you go first ) Anakin powers up to quite a beast by round 4 ( if i’m interpreting it right ) ? Only asking because i’m at work and the computer won’t let me access the RRG to check.
Given the acting of Hayden Christensen and Jake Lloyd I think I’m going to continue to use my original miniatures to truly represent the feeling of watching those films again….

I also did a “kitbash” of young Anakin (Jake Lloyd) by carefully snapping one plank in half.
To be fair for both it was on George Lucas and his lack if ability to write and direct that hurt performance of those two and Jake Lloyd didn’t have any acting experience. Poor Jake Lloyd even got bullied because of it and it ruined his life so I feel bad for him. Even experienced actor like Liam Neeson had hard time under George Lucas. When making OT he always had other people help him but with PT he wanted to do things himself.
