American Civil War & Triple Alliance Releases From The Perrys!
January 17, 2022 by brennon
The folks at Perry Miniatures have been releasing some brand new metal miniatures for both the American Civil War and the War Of The Triple Alliance. We start this toe-dip into the Historical with some new American Civil War characters.
Mounted Union Colonels // Perry Miniatures
We start with a pack of Mounted Union Colonels who are sporting some impressive facial hair (as you would have thought!). They all look particularly proud, marshalling their troops and watching over the battlefield as the fight unfolds before them.
Sticking with the mounted options, we also have the Divisional & Brigade Standard Bearers.

So, if you're wanting to try and keep an eye on the developing situation and send some messages then these might be handy. They look quite static but, much like with their commanders, you would imagine they spent a lot of time watching from afar.
War Of The Triple Alliance
Stepping away from the American Civil War, we also have some new releases for the Triple Alliance period. This is one of those periods of history (and wars) that I don't know much about but it seems fascinating!
Paraguayan Mounted Officers // Perry Miniatures
You can lead the way for the Paraguayans with their brand new Mounted Officers. I like the chap on the left in the red who seems very eager to get stuck into the midst of the fighting.
Sticking with the people of Paraguay, we also have some dismounted cavalry options armed with fierce sabres and spears.
Paraguayan Dismounted Cavalry Advancing // Perry Miniatures
If you've lost your horse, makes sense to try and take your opponent off of their own!
You can also pick up a new artillery crew for those playing as the Uruguayans.
Uruguayan Foot Artillery Firing Muzzleloader Crew // Perry Miniatures
You don't get the gun with this particular set but you do get a solid crew to work on one. I really like artillery crews and such as they create little vignettes and dioramas on the battlefield. These crews often get forgotten!
Last, but not least, we also have some unfortunate Paraguayans who have unfortunately been at the wrong end of a rifle. Maybe they were even hit by the shrapnel caused by a cannonball hitting some of their defences?
Paraguayan Casualties // Perry Miniatures
You could use these, rather than tokens, to mark when a unit has taken some damage in the midst of battle. Drop these behind a unit and you've got some very in-world options for the battlefield.
Are you tempted by either of these periods of warfare situated in the Americas?
