Amass A Pirate Crew & Play Football In The Jungle With Black Scorpion
April 9, 2015 by brennon
Black Scorpion Miniatures have shown off the host of new miniatures that they'll be bringing to the Wild West, Seven Seas and indeed even the Fantasy Football pitch too at Salute 2015...
Upon The High Seas!
The crews of your pirate ships are catered too with the coming additions to the Pirate line-up from Black Scorpion; all very useful for Cutlass!
The first image above covers the Hired Hands for your pirate crews and includes a Chef, Naviator, Missionary, Surgeon and Cabin Boy who would all be perfect for scenario play.
Secondly we have a pair of Cannons manned by different crews which include Humans and Dwarves. Once again these will be handy for use with Cutlass! and you could buy a few of them to put together a pair of pirate ships that are fighting it out in the harbour during a boarding action.
The Wild (And Spooky) West
It's not only the high seas that has got an update as the Wild West gets itself a new resin character in the shape of Pat Garrett and also some spooky spirits that could dwell in the local mine perhaps...
I love that the focus of Black Scorpion is to bring out these highly detailed miniatures that always speak to gamers when it comes to designing and thinking up scenarios. Almost every time I see a set of their miniatures I start to consider new ideas for the tabletop.
With this particular set of spooky individuals I reckon you've come to a literal ghost town in the middle of nowhere hunting down an Outlaw pack only to find them strung up and these strange creatures all that remains of the townsfolk. What's going on?
Fantasy Football
It's not just gun fights and ship battles however as Black Scorpion have also got a new Amazon team to show off at Salute which allows you to add another nice Fantasy Football team to your roster.
I have the Dwarf team from Black Scorpion in resin and while it was a bit of a pain to clean up in terms of flash the actual detail of the sculpts was perfect from that point on and they still need to be run out as a proper team!
Special Edition!
Last but not least is the special edition Salute miniature that will be limited to 100 pieces at the event. Say hello to Intrepid II...
I reckon this lovely lady would make an awesome addition to any pulpy gang you could think of, especially with her monkey companion. I could see her in some kind of Fallout type setting where she now hunts the wasteland with her monkey who was some discarded experiment - a monkey with the ability to speak!
What would you pick from Black Scorpion?

Those are really good.
These are all great!
Amazon team:
I like:
That they’re female Norse.
They’re not all in bikinis!
I don’t like:
The throwers hair style and lack of helmet.
Either the lack of catcher figures or that the catchers look like linewomen (I’m guessing the running pose is meant to be a catcher).
Bloody cloaks! Seriously, who at BS has a clock fetish?
Overall don’t think I’d buy them as a team but I’m tempted to pick up some linewomen figures to add to a Norse team.
Norses for courses 🙂
As always I like Adams figures – they are consistent in style, I may have to pick up the hired hands if they are on sale individually, a 3rd cabin boy would be over doing it.
I also hope to get the Salute model
