The Avenger Skims Into The World Of Gates Of Antares
October 10, 2016 by brennon
Beyond The Gates Of Antares hits the tabletop alongside a new Avenger Attack Skimmer for the Algoryn by Warlord Games.
The Skimmer can be armed with either Mag Light Support or Mag Cannon. The design of the craft is very sleek and deadly looking and the pilot position very natural.
You can see some of the different weapon options revealed here below.
One of the things that sometimes puts people off this kind of skimmer is that the design feels cumbersome. I think they've gone the other way with this and it will fit in nicely to the Sci-Fi world of Gates Of Antares.

That looks very nice.
I do not like a lot of the Antares vehicles, especially the skimmers, but this is amazing. It would look great for a Heresy era Imperial Army force.
I think that you might have hit on the biggest problem with the game overall. You immediately saw where it would fit into a 30k – 40k game environment. It’s a shame they weren’t able to separate themselves in the market place more.
The BtGoA models are getting increasingly better and @mage is correct, these Algoryn Skimmers are amazing.
Love the drones, but I’m afraid this doesn’t do it for me. No crew compartment, or even cover for the crew? Also, if the gunner has to traverse, he’ll knock out the pilot. Would fit right in 40k. Definitely designed by a committee.
