The Aelf Legions Of The Lumineth Do Battle In Age Of Sigmar Soon
March 23, 2021 by brennon
The Lumineth Realm-lords are going to be coming to the world of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar this weekend. Pre-orders fire up for the new Battletome alongside plenty of 28mm miniatures for this High Fantasy wargame by Games Workshop.

Starting things off, we have a number of new characters for the Lumineth Realm-lords. This seems to be where their focus is at the moment, adding new leader options and a few elite warriors to fight alongside the basic troops we saw last year. One such leader is Lyrior Uthralle.
Uthralle is the voice of the twin god Tyrion and so has command over all of the many cities and Aelves of Hysh. He certainly reminds me of the High Elves of old although not mounted on the back of a dragon. The set for Uthralle can also be built as a Lord Regent if you want to lead a force with your own leader.

If you're interested in checking out the elemental power of the Lumineth Realm-lords then you can draw on some interesting characters. One of these is the particularly anime-inspired Sevireth. Whilst we've seen the designers look at the power of the earth, this looks at the mercurial power of the air.
Sevireth // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Much like with the previous miniature, Sevireth can also be built as a regular Hurakan, Spirits Of The Wind. Again, if you're interested in making your own unique force with names and background chosen by you, then this is the route to go down.
Hurakan, Spirits Of The Wind // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
The new character options don't stop there as the folks at Games Workshop are working on plenty of additional characters which we'll list out below.
Scinari Calligrave // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Hurakan Windmage // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Scinari Loreseeker // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Vanari Bannerblade // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
I do like quite a few of these miniatures, even the Aelf with the exceptionally oversized banner. I've come to quite appreciate the look of the Lumineth Realm-lords now. I would still slice the horns off a lot of the core infantry units for them and turn them into traditional conical helmets but in the main, I do like the design of the army.
The final character miniature that we're looking at is for Ellania & Ellathor. This pair is the mirror of the Teclian and Tyrionic elements that run through Lumineth society.
Ellania & Ellathor // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
On the one side, you have the martial might of Ellathor. On the other, you have the magical power of Ellania. They then work together to make one unstoppable force on the tabletop. I really like that this is not just a call back to a classic Warhammer Fantasy Battles miniature but also Elladan & Elrohir in The Lord Of The Rings.
New Lumineth Realm-lords Elites
Stepping away from the characters, we also have some elite troops for you. If you like the old Swordmasters Of Hoeth then you might like the Vanari Bladelords.
Vanari Bladelords // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
I do like the look of these although the helmets do look a little too large for them. Overall, the design works with their back banners and hefty swords at the ready. A few of the Bladelords do have somewhat awkward stances but in the main, it's a fun call back.
If you would prefer to take on your enemies at speed then you can also add the Hurakan Windchargers into your army.

The not-kangaroos are on the warpath, giving us another look at the sorts of creatures that roam The Mortal Realms. As funky as a lot of people find these, I do think that they work with the overall theme of the Lumineth Realm-lords. It will be fun to see people paint them in schemes that aren't white and blue.
The final new "unit" for the army is the Vanari Starshard Ballistas which goes back to the bolt throwers of old and gives them an update.
Vanari Starshard Ballistas // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This piece of artillery is protected by a set of wards that are placed around the operators which I think is a cool touch. It does explain how crews manage to weather incoming fire. The contraption itself is also rather swish and I think it's a good blend of historical weapon and something more fantastical. I particularly like the "quiver" which feeds new bolts down to the loader on a sliding rail.
New Lumineth Battletome & Broken Realms
All of these miniatures will be detailed, alongside the existing range, as part of the new Lumineth Realm-lords Battletome.

As is normally the case, the Battletome will come in the standard form as you see above and a limited edition full-art format. The same goes for the next step in the Broken Realms series as the Teclis story is now ready to unfold on the tabletop.
Broken Realms: Teclis // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Spurred on by the machinations of Nagash, Teclis is now ready to flex his magical muscles and have a hand in tackling the great necromancer. Throughout the pages of Broken Realms: Teclis you'll find plenty of fluff and lore but also ways to play out narrative engagements between the Lumineth and many other factions.
It's good to see the storyline of Age Of Sigmar continuing to progress and it will be interesting to see how this then flows into Be'lakor and beyond.
If you're a fan of the Lumineth Realm-lords then this weekend is going to be a big one for you!

Run through the woods, they can’t follow us with their helmets!
At least they’ll always have a place to hang their laundry.
or just get inside any building, because unless it’s made to fit ogres and giants they can’t follow you either …
The sword masters and kangaroo/goat riders will be going into my Oathmark elven army, with their helmets trimmed down of course. I really love the East Asian aesthetic of them, but with enough of the old high elf look and feel about them still. I do prefer a more streamlined, easier to paint mini though, hence the trimming of head decoration.
More cow elves. I think that Lyrior Uthralle and Scinari Loreseeker are best of bunch (as well as least silly looking).
who would have thought this range was so popular to require all of these!?!
And yet when it comes to 40K I cannot get one Night Lord character! ha ha
So true. On 40k side if you don’t play Imperial Space Marines you are out of luck most of time when it comes to new miniatures. Then again Chaos players have had better luck with that than Xenos players.
that’s the GW way.
They may focus on one faction each edition that isn’t spacemarine/sigmarite or their evil twins.
GW has jumped the shark.
Just wait for the sharkmen army 😉
They are brilliant looking figures if you can ignore the OTT head gear.
Cry ‘head swap’ and let slip the dogs of war!
Loving this stuff! The headgear is wacky, but that’s nothing new from GW OR reality. There’s a realism to the clothing, too. Don’t know if anyone has ever tried to fight in tight fitting clothes, but it ain’t easy! There’s a reason a lot of Indian style clothing is quite baggy in places…and also where we get the word pajamas from! And the bovine stuff is pretty cool. Remember that Norse mythology started with a cow, so this is nothing new either.
I really really hate this paint scheme. It is just so… clean and unrealistic too me.
Add in the goofy hats and wind chimes, and well its just never going to look good to me.
