JoeK Add To Their Odyssey With Furies & A Minotaur
January 26, 2017 by brennon
JoeK is continuing their journey into the Odyssey with some more impressive miniatures which will feature as part of a small Kickstarter. The main focus will be The Furies...
Three of these ladies will take shape with JoeK's trademark style which takes these Ancient Greek myths and brings them into the realm of Sci-Fi. I love the overall aesthetic on show here with this mix of technology and the organic on show.
In fact, they have already finished work on the render for one of the ladies, The Virgin.
It's neat to see that she is very different from the other two and in actuality all three have a unique look. Painting these miniatures would be a joy methinks as you used all manner of cool techniques to bring out those layers in her bodywork.
Enter The Labyrinth
Another piece of concept art popped up too for The Minotaur...
Now that is how to do a Sci-Fi/Mythology mash-up. I love the discs built into his legs mirroring the look of Greek shields and the myriad of gems and stones worked into his overall design. You could just imagine this as an ancient guardian, even in the far future, built by some race of super-intelligent aliens.
What do you think of the Minotaur?

oooh shiny! the previous argonauts werent really to my taste but i do like the style of these pieces
judging by the virgin the minotaur will be fantastic.
The virgin looks like it’s from the Protoss faction in starcraft. I’d be tempted to paint it like that as well.
Well looking at the armour on the render of the virgin , her status won’t be changing anytime soon… I mean I like a challenge but I don’t have a hope here.. 😉 … bloody nice looking render …this should be a good series
