A Lost Bretonnian Lord Returns For Warhammer: The Old World
January 16, 2024 by brennon
Games Workshop revealed another miniature this week joining the ranks of the Kingdom Of Bretonnia in Warhammer: The Old World. Hidden away in the vaults for many years, a new Bretonnian Lord has been dragged from 2008 to be dropped onto tabletops in 2024.

The Bretonnian Lord was sculpted back in 2008 and was meant to be included as a Games Day miniature but was replaced by a Chaos Warrior. Martin (no surname of course) was the original sculptor and worked with traditional tools rather than the CAD that we see today. The release will feature the Bretonnian Lord with his helpful retainer who is carrying his helmet around for when he needs it.

A classic miniature in many regards, it's good to see The Old World team diving deep into the archives to feed the various armies once again taking to the battlefield. I'm sure that his gloriously angular cheekbones will be fun for those getting stuck in with a brush and some paints!
This is going to be just one of the unreleased miniatures from the annuls of history that will be coming to the tabletop for The Old World. They have teased Made To Order offerings that will "blow your mind" and hopefully plenty of the fun character sets that were so sought after over the last few years.
This fellow will be available in metal soon and it certainly sets the stage for other returns. I would love to see the unreleased Dwarf Lord plastic kit come back. It seems like the best time to do it!
The 20th of January sees the launch of The Old World for everyone and a first look at the next army that will be joining the Bretonnians and the Tomb Kings on the battlefields of old. My money is on Dwarfs or Empire.
Will you be scooping this fellow up?

2008 isn’t really that ‘deep into the archives’, I’d want them to still cast minis from the 80s and 90s on a special order basis.
In my day they had all the moulds still, and a guy called Tony whose sole job it was to maintain the archive. No idea if that’s still the case, I’m not hopeful.
I kind of like this model BUT is it just me or is there something off about his face?
He is very…angular. Certainly had some work done.
It’d be hilarious to paint him as if he’d had a spray tan done as well!
