Ride Out With The 7th Cavalry In Black Scorpion’s Tombstone
August 7, 2018 by brennon
Black Scorpion has released a new faction for their Wild West game, Tombstone. Check out some of the painted miniatures for the 7th Cavalry faction led by Custer himself.
Bringing the might of the US army to the tabletop, this new set of characters and troopers could provide you with an interesting set of villains for your campaigns.
Whatever you might think about the US army during this period I like the idea that they are nefarious and backstabbing, nevermind land grabbers and expansionists! If I was going to use them in a game like Tombstone I would have them played by the Games Master of your campaign as an interesting villain that all other warbands were having to work around.
You could have these soldiers occupying a lot of the towns that you are fighting over for territory and include them in scenarios as random encounters, either by themselves or as a group right when the action is heating up.
I have to say that I do quite like their array of uniforms and weapons. The colour scheme for this particular faction would be an interesting challenge to with the inclusion of yellow as the complementary colour.
You have a nice set of dynamic figures here to play around with and importantly all of them are in individual poses so you will be able to create interesting characters out of all of them!
Will you be snapping up the 7th Cavalry for your games of Tombstone?

great looking figures.
OMG. When my missus sees these I’ll be broke!
best not show here anything then 😉
The girls in this range are also pretty sweet.
Too late @limburger ! She already owns most of them 🙂
Ooooooh
I’m big into “Dead Man’s Hand” but I’m liking these models.
Dare I buy into another rules set, or just snag the models to use in “Dead Man’s Hand”?
The Tombstone models are great but Dead Man’s Hand is in my opinion way better ruleset. The Black Scorpion minies are a bit taller than your typical 28mm Old West stuff (like Foundry or Great Escape), but the proportions (hands, faces, guns) match quite well. Notice that while BS advertises these as 32mm, they are 30mm measured to the eye (which is the correct way to measure). I haven’t felt these too big playing against my mates’ 28mm stuff.
BS make my favorite lines of historical minis.
I love Black Scorpion ! Their work is just amazing : D
Those look very nice.
I might have to get these as well
These were in the kickstarter.
Their entire range of cowboys and creepy dudes for the ‘Tombstone’ setting is great.
