The 4th War Equipment Corp Table Kickstarter Gets Going!
April 28, 2014 by brennon
You've seen us put together and mess around with some of the 4th War Equipment Corp Gaming Tables over The Weekender and another preview video here on the site and now the Kickstarter has launched!
We were only using the prototypes and they seemed like very sturdy pieces of kit. The actual product promises to be even more robust and have better magnets to stop them moving around. As well as that you do get that very snazzy bag and of course the set-up time is practically nil.
As you can see there is a simple way of pledging and getting yourself a few extras too. I like that they're providing a selection of different mats for those of us who play things like Fantasy Football/DreadBall and X-Wing to name just two different ones.
You can check out the Kickstarter above to get a few more details and also pick your pledge level.
What do you think?
Would have been in for a mat but there is no 6×4 option and they have made them twice as thick and that means HEAVY.
if you are interested in the 2 x 4 mat, it fits perfectly in the bag of the table so also if it is a little heavy it will not be a problem thanking the shoulder belt, and also give big advantages like no crease and “eternal” durability, waterproof and washable surface.
$ 99 000 is a big target to achieve. Don’t think they will make it, even though it looks like a good project.
On the durability issue, I was thinking, http://sugru.com/ would be the right sort of stuff to put on the legs.
doctorether,
That sugru stuff looks very interesting. I can think of a dozen other things I could use it for. I am going to order a sample. Thanks.
Well, I took the plunge. I backed with the early bird for $129.00 seems pretty good. It will be interesting to see how this does.
After a fair bit of consideration, I backed this for an early bird as well. It’s a clever design and I have no doubts whatsoever about it’s resiliency and longevity. Apart from the obvious convenience and space saving factors, I really like the added height of these tables. At my age gamers lower-back ache from constantly leaning over a dining table height board is becoming a real pain (pun intended).
Looked at the kickstarter again and $159 for a 6×4 table seems a little too much
Feckin HOW MUCH!
For cardboard.
Haahhh hahaha hhahaha hhhaaha hhaah!
…
Oh, you’re serious.
Why is it so damn expensive? Is it special cardboard? Does it produce some kind of dizzying high??
It may seem a little pricey for cardboard, but by the look of the design there seems to more to it. I have no problem supporting a upcoming company.

yeah, gotta admit, i was interested in this as i dont have a lot of room at mine for gaming. this would’ve done lovely, but i can’t justify that much on cardboard… sorry guys, like your product, but for me, priced a bit to high to be honest
