New 28mm Vikings Available From V&V Miniatures
January 25, 2016 by stvitusdancern
With all the recent discussion about SAGA, it's hard to resist the urge to seek out viking goodness. This week, V&V Miniatures have announced a new set of 28mm Vikings have joined their ranks and are now available through their web store.
These resin vikings are more than ready to charge into battle on your behalf. They have a lovely amount of detail including a variety of weapons and some fantastic chainmail.
There's even a banner to proudly display your allegiance. You could easily use this selection of warriors as Warlords for your warband or maybe a unit of Heathguard in SAGA who will be keeping an eye on said Warlord.
Will you be adding some more viking warriors to your ranks?

yep
Great!
These are nice, but it’s hard to stand out in this crowded field! Having said that, I could use a good command group for my barbarian horde 🙂
nice heavier armour that most Vikings.
Ordered the command set a few days ago to lead the Grippen Beast plastic vikings and plastic Dark Age Warriors. The ‘elite’ look is befitting for a ‘Warlord’ avatar. And the banner a nice touch for a command base.
And with the hidden face I can always claim it is modelled on myself 😛
or me, almost a spitting image 😉
Definitely a later ‘Viking’ configuration I suspect… closer to 1066 than 800 AD
Spectacle helms like these were generally mid to late 9th century but evidence does show them going further. By 1066 the majority would be wearing spangenhelms. Looking at the picture there seems to be a mix with some in later helms and some in the older dome fashion
From memory some of them look straight from the artwork in the Osprey books
