Victrix is getting ready to release the next of their big plastic kits for use in your Historical wargames. The team are going back to the Late Roman period this time around with a new set of 28mm Armoured Infantry to use when reinforcing the core of your army.

Late Roman Armoured Infantry Command - Victrix

The set should be landing in the next few weeks and will consist of forty-eight miniatures (the sprues from Victrix are always jam-packed!) split across six main frames of Armoured Infantry and two Command Frames.

Whilst the set has been designed to cover the Romans of a collapsing empire, the set can also be used to represent Arthurian Britains battling on the frontier against Saxon invaders and the Goths/Germanic warriors in Europe. As you can see, you get a really darn good selection of weapons, armour designs, helmets and accessories for making heroic warriors.

What's quite nice about the range from Victrix is just how modular it is. You will have certain poses that repeat of course but because you can switch out the heads, weapons and the like with ease, it should mean that you can make very unique-looking warbands for smaller skirmish games. OR, just bosh everything together and create a seriously hefty horde!

A breakdown of the sprues can be found over on the Victrix Blog where they also showed off more renders of the Late Roman Armoured Infantry too. It might give you some fun ideas as to where you want to take this set when it lands.

Whilst this has been designed as a Historical set, I can't see any reason why this couldn't be used to make a very fun Fantasy force as well.

What do you make of the new Armoured Infantry?
