Build A New 15mm Greek Army For Mortem Et Gloriam
June 9, 2021 by brennon
Mortem Et Gloriam players are getting a new way to get started in this 15mm Ancients wargame. Classical Greeks are taking to the battlefield as Plastic Soldier Company put together a new Ultracast Pacto Starter Army based on the miniatures by Xyston.
Classical Greek Army // Mortem Et Gloriam
This new Pacto Starter Army gives you a great place to start when it comes to Mortem Et Gloriam. Breaking things down, this set comes with near 100 figures for you to assemble into an army.
Classical Greek Command // Mortem Et Gloriam
Inside you'll find a Mounted General, eight Foot Command miniatures, seventy-two Hoplites (woot!), six Cavalry and twelve Peltasts. The vast majority of these miniatures come in alternate poses so you can create dynamic looking units on the tabletop.

Shields are included as part of this kit but you'll want to pick up their set of wire spears HERE. It seems like a good if spikey idea! Make sure you don't accidentally lean on your unit with those around.
Here is how some of these miniatures look when painted up thanks to the brush of Chris Walker.

If you're venturing into the depths of Mortem Et Gloriam then you might want to snap these up and add them into your collection. You've now got a solid collection of different factions to play as with Greeks, Romans, Gauls and more.
Are you tempted to snap up this new Classical Greek Army?

When there are Greek Armies… I’m always disappointed that they don’t come with their own philosopher in a barrel…
Great looking figures.
I just ordered MEG, after noticing that they have free supplements for generic fantasy army lists, Lord of the Rings army lists and Game of Thrones army lists.
I also wanted to go full Punic Wars in 6mm with MEG, but these Greeks got me tempted.
Buying the Spears is just the only way to go (madness lies if you try and “hobby” your own), but they are a bit pricey compared to the ones I got originally from Xystron. Next thing you need to do is source some 15mm shield transfers (the other thing that will drive you into a gibbering wreck if you start trying to paint 72 individual shield designs).
These additional purchases will drive up the cost of your army, but then there’s something to be said about seeing a Greek army on the table in all their splendour 🙂
