Check out the Nerd Bunker! Our new set in the USA
November 24, 2011 by atomsmasher
See what he has to say and check out his new set-up.
We think it will be interesting to see how the Nerd Bunker develops and we are all really excited that Adam will be able to show us cool stuff more often.
Look out for the first What’s in the Box from the Nerd Bunker this week. In which Adam will be checking out the CCC faction for the very cool game Mercs.
Great to see BoW branching out – American style! Good luck Adam!
I like it.
Plus, you have a bomb, so i wont say a word against you.
Ever.
Adam is Da Bomb 😉
I think that’s actually a beer cooler :S
Kinda small for beer if he sups it anything like the rest of you on turn 8…
Actually, it’s an old US Navy dummy bomb for bombing practice, I think.
I recall reading in a tom clancy novel, the blue ones are weighted duds, for loading and flight with payload training, so when a bomb painted blue “feel off” the plane everyone was able to act surprised when it blew up a Columbian drug lords union meeting…
I assure you, I would be really surprised if this one blew up. And sad.
Looking good!
So Adam will be taking over for a lot of the workload including unboxing, first-look and painting tips?
I certainly wouldn’t say “a lot” but I would say “some” of the workload. More content production means more content produced for you guys, and it’s fun to do.
“Not quite as professional as the guys back in Ireland” has that ever been said before? 😛
On topic looking like a sweet idea, all good nerdiness begins in the basement (or attic in my case lol) will be interesting to see what you start putting out, based on how cool you made Gencon look(and curse you for that now I want to go lol) I have great hopes for this, good luck!
Hmmm Nerdbunker… I like it 😀
Yeah, my wife and I bought a house last year and I had big plans for the basement. Someone asked me if it was going to be my “man cave” and that term has always seemed wrong to me. I replied that no: it was going to be my “nerd bunker” and the name has stuck.
Nice place but name Nerd Bunker is funny.
This is blatantly not in America as there are no guns on the walls (Bombs dont count).
Lies, I say, LIES!
I do own a sweet neon-colored nerf shotgun and a laser tag gun, but that’s it. I didn’t think they’d look good on the wall.
If you put one on the wall just for me I will love you forever
also…
I want gaming news……IN MY FACE!
Cool Bunker! And finally Mercs!! 😀
@atomsmasher – get over here so I can give you Karma.
All we need now is a setup in France to save Romain from the perils of Ryanair and BOW can basically be said to have gone global. Sweet!
Beasts of War International… I like the sound of it.
Aaaand thumbed. Good luck Adam, looking forward to Mercs. Maybe since there’s no ocean in the way, though the distance might still be prohibitive, you could do the Brushfire unboxings at some point?
awesome 😀
You need to get a Bottoms Up beer tap in there!
First it is Ireland, now its America, next its Australia, and then…! Newcastle 😉
Liking this idea.
BoW is going global.
Now wheres the cola?! (i am under age for beer… -.-)
Glad to see BOW branching out to the States.
Perhaps you could show:
1. Model building tips for specific kits – if there are tricky bits or things that can go wrong in a build – point them out. example: Privateer Press has a few on-line step by step frames to help with the Cryx Battle Engine build and pre-painting.
2. Magnetizing weapon mounts
3. Pinning difficult components
Good luck!
Oy, magnetizing. I am terrible at that. Maybe I can get some training from my a few of my friends and then try to pass that knowledge along. I’m usually a slightly better painter than a converter.
I Hope we get to see some reviews on the fine bases that warhammer 40k now provides in there fine cast boxes. Darrel has been slacking!
I wish you a good start !!!!!!
As a fellow ‘Murican this video makes me happy in the pants.
Can you give us a small bio type thing where you list some of the games you’re playing lately, or at least thinking about (i.e. topics for videos you’re throwing around in your head?)
From the about us section on snarling badgers it looks like you might be an indie game type guy; is this correct?
I am an indie game type guy, sort of. My Snarling Badger partner and I have produced a few small games, but we mainly just do it on the side as a ‘hobby press’ kind of company. Things have been slowish in that area lately.
Lately, the stuff I play is Warhammer 40k (400-point Combat Patrol, mostly – CSM and Tau) and a bit of Warmachine (Khador) and MERCS and I’m starting up Infinity. On the indie side, it’s mostly stuff from Ganesha Games: Flying Lead and Song of Blades and Heroes.
nice to see BoW branching out to more countries.
Like the idea and like the setup. Good luck with it. I hope you will do some FOW.
I’ll give you some ideas to what you could cover. Great set up btw
Flames of War
Fire Storm Armada

I was thinking shedding light on the smaller companies so people can get information about.
I like the setup and wish you the best of luck.
What state are you in, Adam?
Wisconsin, kind of middlish.
Hopefully you will do some painting, scenery, modeling demos as well as out of the box type demos. Especially on all the new FOW stuff.
Where abouts are you actually located Adam?
Wisconsin, land of cheese. Not the Darrell kind, though.
need an underpayed aide? I’m your man!
