Let’s Play Kingdom Death Monster – Lantern Year Five
December 16, 2016 by dignity
We're back for a showdown this time in Kingdom Death: Monster as the Butcher hunts down our survivors this time around rather than them chasing him!
Catch up with the journey so far…
Justin and Warren are once again joined by Chris Handley from Darker Days Radio to undertake this gruelling task and hopefully, make it out the other side alive.
What do you think will happen?

Another 90 minutes of gaming brilliance
Some ups and some downs in there, but pure entertainment throughout, has to be watched and can’t wait for next weeks.
No video next week as that is all we have recorded so far. But I will be going back to record more.
thanks for the recording
Noooooooooooo! More please, at least until my gaming group gets our hands on your product!!!!
I just loved this play through. How it went from ‘we can do this!’ to an absolute blood bath. Awesome!
Thanks for showing the settlement phase. That was really enlightning.
Wow … The Butcher is rough!
I just wanted you guys to know that I can’t watch the video for another year and a half or so, but consider adding one more view for your metrics in terms of interest! Thanks to Chris, Warren and Justin for putting these together!
Well that went …… well?
Fantastic encounter chaps. I look forward to seeing more in the future. My group for KD:M always used one person as the monster controller, we would just spread around the insanity points from choosing ” yourself ” as the target. It let us focus on the hunt and settlement phases properly and not miss stuff out on the monster reactions and attacks.
Also note, Justin is controlling the cameras while drawing the cards.
Next time I think it is a given that I will be the default monster controller do it that way.
Yeah, KD:M always has lots going on, let alone playing on camera like you guys. I think a monster controller is the way to go, it doesn’t take anything away from the game imho.
To be honest, now these more introductory sessions are done, it may well make more sense in future for me to be monster controller and “GM”, so that the choices the others make are more organic and spontaneous. The great thing is the game supports that sort of play too (I really love how this game can be solo, up to 6 player, or GM run).
Some magnificent and terrible rolling there lads,
I am so enjoying these videos. Thanks for continuing with this saga!
And that is what happens in this game. LOVE IT!
That was gloriously brutal!
…and there we have Kingdom Death for you. We will remember you – RiP Warren, Justin, and Chris. This has been an awesome series and can’t wait to see more in the future. I have managed to get my mates through their first Hunt, taking down the poor lv1 white lion almost ridiculously easily, after having been initially mauled and losing a starting survivor in the prologue encounter. My buddies are hooked already as they loved the settlement phase as much, if not more, than the showdown. Now all I need is to sell a couple more organs and fund… Read more »
Justinskin Pants! Which orifice to use as the fly? Lol. Nice pair of Warrenskin boots and Chrisskin gloves too. Still thinking cannibalism was a good idea Justin?
Love the series. Very entertaining and even when you think that it is going well it just turns around and kicks you in the butt, until your dead.
Going to check out the KS starter in January and going to look and back this.
I am loving this series, I can’t wAit to play this game!!!!!!!!
it looked like it was all over when Justin stepped up and battered the butcher to the ground in a raging frenzy. but o no, it turns out he just needed to no he was in a fight. Justins arm goes and he dies in terror, Warrens breast plate shatterd and Chris’s head explodes. a beautiful ballet of brutality. if it wasn’t for your saviour you would have all been another face on a lantern. but fear not for Sarah will skin you and eat your flesh. like @cybermonkey said, I laughed when Justin started getting all “we need a… Read more »
Wow that was something. Didn’t expect such a sudden turn of events. Just shows that you never know even near the end of a fight, you might die or loose the entire party.
That was as brutal as the Antelope was annoying
i’m actually really enjoying this series might have to get the core set
What an awesome game.I’m looking forward to the continuation of this series.
I like this series as I’m unlikely to actually ever play it myself 🙂 very cool game though.
Ooof this might be one of my favourite segments on The site at the moment.
Unfortunately it’s also making me want to pick up the game…..
You know you resistance is futile 😉
Have to take back what I said about episode 4: This was fun to watch! I like a lot that dying is a normal part of the game. Campaign games where nobody dies ever (like it is in pen&paper a lot) are just get stale in time. There has to be at least the possibility of death.
Damn. That was brutal the butcher did live up to his name
An insect with your face!
