Pre-Orders Begin For Modiphius’ Fallout: Wasteland Warfare
October 4, 2017 by brennon
Modiphius has now begun taking pre-orders for their new game, Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. You can get stuck in and pick up their Two-Player Starter Set as well as a whole bunch of extras to add to your experience in the post-apocalypse as you leave your vault!
When it comes to getting into the game the first port of call should probably be this set. It comes with a whole host of miniatures and all of the gubbins you need to get going with the game.
The game supports player vs player as well as cooperative and narrative experiences on the tabletop. You can either play through scenarios against the game in campaign-style play OR you can duke it out in 'Caps' based battles which is their version of points.
Adding progress and growth to the game you can then upgrade your crew of survivors with perks, weapons, gear and more. This works across all types of encounters giving the game a very sandbox feel.
Core Sets
As well as the Two-Player Starter Set which you see above which comes with a smattering of interesting models from a selection of the different sets out there you can also buy Core Boxes for the different factions if you want to get more specific with your collection.
Survivors
Wasteland Creatures
Super Mutants
Robots
Brotherhood Of Steel
These sets each give you a set of models to expand your group of survivors and drop in interesting creatures and other encounters into your games of Fallout. You'll find all of the cards and gubbins you'll need to play with them in each set.
Personally, in simply looking to paint up some of these models I think the Robot and the Wasteland Creatures sets could be fantastic.
Terrain
As well as the models you'll also need some terrain to make your post-apocalypse look just right. Modiphius has teamed up with Battlesystems for the rather epic looking Red Rocket Scenic Set as a basis for your adventures on the tabletop.
The clip together card terrain makes for a great starting point for your games and also comes with a few resin pieces to throw into the mix as well. Talking of resin, the team at Modiphius also have lots of different packs for you to pick up, all of which are featured on their webstore HERE.
Are you liking the look of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare?

Looks good, but between Star Wars Legion and Joan of Arc, I am afraid I will have to pass on this one but I am sure this will make many fans very happy.
I love almost everything about this. I just think the survivors need a bit more character to them. The Red Rocket looks legit!
Been waiting for a few months for the pre-orders to go live. Love the look of the mini’s! Hoping to save up to go for the Vault Dweller set, the Red Rocket is cool but the fact it’s card terrain puts me off a little bit. Would love to see a collaboration with 4Ground on some kickass buildings for this.
The Battle Systems stuff is pretty solid for card terrain and it looks purty too. They have some fantastic Dungeon/Sci-Fi stuff worth checking out as well.
Their sci-fi terrain would make a good vault to fight in.
I agree the Battle System stuff is lovely but I would love to see a 4Ground collaboration.
Now that would be a gaming table feast for the eye if that came to pass 😀 .
Interesting things about the Red Rocket set: It costs £60. Which surprised me. Because it includes a 3×3 neoprene mat and some resin pieces like gas pumps and the roof rocket. Which surprised me!
definitely interesting and the minis look amazing, not a bad price for a two-player starter set either
So shiny….
@brennon / @warzan – think you need to get the guys into the studio to do a demo game
….. and if a boot camp happened to follow I’m not sure you’d get any complaints… 😉
REally looking forward to this as I’m curious how the solo stuff works
I’ve been following this with an almost stalkerish fever… can’t wait to get painting! Would love to see a whole board set up for this
never really got into the PC game but the figures are very good looking.
Yikes, looked at the “all in” preorder, £650 for the minis of my dreams. Anyone need a Kidney (slightly used)?
You do get a fair bit of resin for that asking price though. Personally I think they may have made a mistake offering that option, it just makes things look expensive to me. If you start breaking it down the prices don’t feel so high compared to other systems.
Also Modiphius should be making more of the cards and components that also come in these sets, if you glance at the store it looks like you just get minis for the numbers posted.
One thing not mentioned here is that the miniatures from the 2 player starter are PVC, a resin version exists but it misses the Deathclaw, has no box and can only be bought online while pre orders are up.
If the actual sculpts match the renders, or if those are sculpts and they look like that out of the box, they will have a pretty big hit on their hands.
Very impressed with the look and feel of the game.
Wanted to see what the rules are like and found this on youTube:

Have they said how long this pre-order system is up for?
I know its shipping in March, but I need to save some pennies for the all in option (as no-one wants to buy a slightly used Kidney).
Looks good but the price means I’ll probably end up passing.
