WWI Russian Officers Join Empress’ OZ Club STP Collection
September 24, 2021 by brennon
Empress Miniatures showed off a few new World War I Russians that you'll be able to pick up soon from both them and the OZ Club STP collection. Whilst we saw more troops earlier in the week, today brings a look at some Russian Officers.
World War I Russian Officers // Empress Miniatures
The first of these previews showed off a neat looking pair of officers on foot. They are armed with blades but also have guns to hand as well. I like the style of their caps and the detail that we find worked into their uniforms and facial features. Another great job from Paul Hicks I think you'll agree. You could see them pushing their troops into battle whether they like it or not!
As well as the Officers on foot, we also got a look at a couple of Mounted Officers as well. Both of them look like they are taking their troops in from afar as the battle unfolds.

The second of these has an absolutely glorious beard! That will really stand out when it comes to painting these miniatures.

I really like that this range is being fleshed out as it works very nicely alongside the rest of the Empress collection for World War I. You could play out a lot of the conflicts on the Eastern Front of World War I and then the infighting that happened during the revolution.
Which army from World War I would you snap up if you were diving into wargaming during this period? Do you like the idea of playing the British or the Germans or are you tempted to try something different with the Russians?

Nice looking command figures.
These are stunning miniatures. Paul Hicks has really nailed the look of the uniforms.
I came here to use the word “stunning” too. Empress and Mr Hicks are among the best around.
Well said both. I’m going to add a third stunning and try not change my project plans between here and pay day again. Lovely looking sculpts and I bet they paint up nice too.
I’m trying to not add new projrcts. Mr Hicks is a regular challenge to this.
It’s the shiny shiny Ben mentioned in XLBS but in this case I will happily admit its nice to have such great choice from a talented bloke.
