World War III British Pre-Orders Now Available From Battlefront
January 16, 2020 by brennon
Battlefront Miniatures has now shown off all of the pre-orders for their new adventure into World War III and Team Yankee with the British. Kicking things off you'll have a new faction book which introduces you to the armies that you can field during this hypothetical war.
Here is what you can look forward to seeing as part of the book...
- Background on the British Army, and the 1st and 3rd Armoured Divisions
- Instructions on how to build a Challenger or Chieftain Armoured Squadron, Warrior and FV432 Mechanised Companies, Airmobile Company, Medium and Wheeled Recce Squadrons.
- Four Scenarios to test your skills.
- A detailed painting guide.
...and, if you're interested in diving right in and building up a full army of Brits for World War III then you can also snap up the Starter Set for them, the Challenger Armoured Squadron.
As you can see, this set comes with all manner of rather awesome looking armoured elements plus you also get the helicopters which will be offering up an element of air support.
In addition to the Starter Set above you can pick up dozens of new boxes of goodies which will spread out across February and March. So, you have plenty of time to get your hands on the likes of the Warrior Platoon...
...or maybe you fancy diving in and pick out an iconic element of the British Armed Forces, the Harrier Close Support Flight. I think I'd be tempted to pick these up simply because of their status and it could be fun to paint them up.
Of course, you could also just add more Challenger Tanks into the mix with another set which offers up the chance to throw more of these armoured behemoths at the enemy.
It seems like things are kicking off with a bang for World War III and Team Yankee from Battlefront Miniatures but no not despair if you're a World War II player as more is certainly coming on that front too. However, if you're looking to dive in and play some battles during this period, this would be a great place to start.
Are you going to be checking this out?

Oh no guess I’m making a British army to go with my Russians what a shame…
that’s how they get you … 😉
If they’re doing Dutch/NATO with such a starter box too then I might be tempted too start WW3 for real. It’s probably one of the few wargames I only have in rules and not in plastic/resin/metal
I’ve had the minis and rules for a while though alas not played a game as I’ve only just found an opponent, I’m interested to see what rule changes there are to the game
I’ve been looking forward to this release and have saved some of my Chrimbo money for it. Definitely will be picking these up! I’m hoping they will become available through the OTT store?
I’m definitely interested in the Barriers and the British starter force. They just look so good!
But I am always a little confused as to how team Yankee relates to modern tanks. Is modern just the skirmish version of Yankee, albeit with different background fluff, or are they completely separate?
Both tanks and tanks modern use flames of war Bd team Yankee models but with different rule set… much smaller scale and skirmish based … best way to describe it is x wing with tanks type thing
A lighter more vehicle orientated version, more or less. What Doktormatt said 😛
This is going to cost me… Already got a reasonably sized number of Brits – it’s not just the extra British awesomeness I’m going to have to contend with, I’ll be compelled to increase the size of my Warsaw pact forces. Question of fairness, definitely not the case that I have a problem…
More… More… MORE!!
that’s good thanks to cutbacks we can get the complete British army in one box.
This is awesome, one of the things I love about this, I have been waiting for the Warrior, Challenger and M270 to roll out. These will look awesome on the table.
@warzan will you be stocking the big British Starter box in the store when it is released?
Gulf War British here I come!
STILL no infantry in these starter sets (even though they’ve added the Warrior MICV)? Alas it’s an important part of the whole “combined arms” aspect that should govern the game. Granted a lot of players just avoid fielding any infantry with Flames of War/Team Yankee these days, but wouldn’t it be a good idea to get new players used to fielding infantry from the get go? Just me having another “grognard grumble”, but the least the Flames of War Starter set had a load of infantry included (in fact it’s probably one of the best starter sets for value and… Read more »
