If you're a fan of Team Yankee then the news that the West Germans were coming has probably not escaped you. Yesterday Battlefront Miniatures ran a full day of articles and videos to showcase the launch and later on today our own Tank God will be looking at the new book and miniatures in two in-depth videos.

But, to get you up to speed with what you may have missed out on here is a brief recap on what you can find on the Live Launch blog that they ran.

Articles

The first thing to take a look at is a massive repository of articles for the contents of the book. When putting together either a book or even new miniatures, there is a wealth of research that goes into the design process that we rarely get to see. World War III: West German allows you to build twelve different fighting companies, and within the book, you'll find the background for the Bundeswehr and Heer for your games of Team Yankee.

Starting with a breakdown of the book and new models the twelve-hour coverage then went into greater detail on the formations and units you will find within the book. Including the history in greater detail than they could fit into the book without it being four times the size. Add to this photographs of the real-life vehicles and soldiers it is a fantastic resource for people looking to dive into the West Germans.

Army Lists

Another great touch is the staff army lists, there are several of these scattered throughout the day along with discussions on building other specific formations you can see exactly how these forces are designed and what the force composition is supposed to do on the tabletop. It is a fascinating insight into the construction of lists and their expected playstyles on the tabletop that are incredibly interesting for even the non-German player to get a feel of what they can expect to see confronting them on the tabletop.

Add to this a five-game branching scenario as well as an article detailing how to build a better table for your games with ariel photography of Europe to show the best way to represent that on the table. With all of that, you can see there is plenty to get your teeth sunk into for people keen to see what the new book has to offer, but wait that's not all!

Most of the new vehicles also have an accompanying article about them following the above blend of historical can in-game information and supplemental videos on how to table and even how to paint them up.

Build Videos

Over on the Flames of War channel, you can find a collection of videos including an unboxing of the new starter army for the West Germans.

Painting Videos

Pete the Wargamer has done some amazing painting videos for the launch as well, they're all available from the live blog but currently unlisted on his channel so if you want to see more like the one above then check out the Live Launch Page. If that inspired you then you'll be pleased to hear that Battlefront also updated their NATO 3 templates so you can download 15 pages of reference to get your West Germans into battle-ready status.

Terrain Videos

Do you want more, well they have more! Joe from Miniature Landscape Hobbies has four terrain videos showing you how to build and paint terrain for your World War III tables. These are fantastic quick videos that show how you can get really beautiful terrain on your tables without much time, expense, or stress and are definitely worth a view.

Live Playthrough

I have saved the best for last, there was a live playthrough on Twitch that put the brand new West Germans in the viewer's hands against Luke from Battlefront in an epic game that was really fun to watch and uniquely set up. Definitely interesting to watch it play out and see how warfare by democracy isn't always a good thing 😉

Shop Team Yankee @ Store.OnTableTop

If that's whetted your appetite for more then don't forget to check back at 15:00 and 17:00 to see John and Justin sitting down and chewing the fat over the new book and box set and maybe it will be your next project as you join the fight in World War III

Are you liking the look of the new West German content for Team Yankee?
