Warlord’s Bolt Action Belgians Get Commanders & Special Weapon Support
October 6, 2018 by brennon
The Belgians are getting some reinforcement from Warlord Games for Bolt Action. Leading the way we have a new contingent, the Belgian Army HQ.
Much like with the HQ sets that Warlord Games has created this set comes with a selection of commanding officers, a Medic and also a Radio Operator. This now allows you to command your Belgian Infantry Squad which has also been released.
It's nice to see more of the smaller segments of the Allied force getting worked on by Warlord Games and brought to the fore. The Belgians have quite an old school look to them I think, especially when it comes to their helmets.

As well as these new aspects of your force you can also bring to bear some big funs. Warlord Games has also created a new Light Mortar Team and Sniper Team.
Once again, you have the rather old-fashioned looking Mortar Team but also a very cool looking pair of soldiers with the Sniper Rifle. I have always liked Sniper Teams and I think they're great in Bolt Action, rushing around the board trying to take pot shots at commanding officers.
Will you be picking up some Belgian soldiers?

What lovely minis. After last weekend and the new Black Powder set Warlord seem determined to make me take the plunge somehow.
Do it, I have a blast with Warlord games – Bolt Action mainly although I don’t think they have out out a game I wouldn’t happily play. Black Powder is calling to me too, as is a shiny new DAK force. Mind you so is blood red skies and Cruel Seas. These chaps though are a great part of why I love bolt action. You can do the larger forces representative of general trends or dig down into the smaller force whether by nation or time period – it a is possible trap as there is always another cool project… Read more »
It is true mate there are far too many traps in this hobby of ours….. *faux sigh*…she’s a cruel misstress 😀
These don’t look too bad. I still prefer the Brigade Models ones though
Not Brigade. Can’t think who I’m thinking of. It will come to me
Those look good and like they are ready to resist and bite.
The Belgium an Dutch made a good account of them selves at the start of the war may be an good choice in a mixed army.
yep. That’s certainly true.
Especially when you look at how disorganised and ill equipped we were at that time.
The one thing that isn’t mentioned often enough is that despite the Germans ‘winning’ they failed to achieve their primary objective : capture of the Queen & ministers …
Ill equipped, didn’t the Belgians not have the best anti-tank gun of that time?
Or have I mess read that somewhere because I think they mention this in a bolt action book.
I was talking about the Dutch. Our canons were ancient even then.
I don’t know about the Belgians.
I thought that Belgium did a great effort to getting very good anti-tank guns after the first war, I don’t know how organized they were and I also know that France had no intention to help us and use us as buffer and the ground to fight over. That is what I have read and seen in some documentaries anyway.
Probably not but damn they are tempting, those moustaches are fantastic
Nothing says “HQ unit” like a magnificent moustache 🙂
Can’t remember what this range was under originally (before Warlord bought the range). The heads seem a little off (from memory I think Warlord remastered them for a “headswap” system and the heads never looked as good as on the original one piece sculpts). Could be wrong as I’m doing this from memory.
Excellent new additions for early War. I will have to pick these up at some point.
