Warlord Release New US Army & Airborne Starter Armies For Bolt Action
January 8, 2019 by brennon
Warlord Games has been showing off some new Starter Armies for those getting stuck into Bolt Action. If you love yourself some US soldiering in World War II then you could kick things off with the US Army Starter Army...
Inside this set, you can find...
- 36x multi-pose US Army infantry (plastic)
- 1x M3A1 half-track (plastic)
- 1x US Army 105mm artillery (metal)
- 1x US Army MMG team (metal)
- 1x US Army medium mortar team (metal)
- 1x M4 Sherman medium tank (plastic)
So it gives you a good basis for those kicking off in Bolt Action. The plastic infantry will do well to bulk up your force and there's plenty of additional options there for growing a force as you go. When it comes to a more specialised force you have the US Airborne Starter Army.
Inside here you get...
- 36x US Airborne infantry (plastic)
- 4x US Airborne HQ figures (metal)
- 1x US Airborne .50 Cal HMG team (metal)
- 1x US Airborne medium mortar team (metal)
- 1x US Airborne 57mm anti-tank gun (metal)
Again this gives you a good, mobile force for using on the tabletop building up from plastic through to full-on metal kits.
I'm still really interested in a version of Bolt Action using its rules which is more of a skirmish game. No armour and vehicles, just a small squad of infantry going up against another. Maybe it'll be on the cards in the future?
What do you think of these new sets?

that the reinforcements for D-day set then.
Those seem like really good boxed sets to pick up.
The one issue I have is I just finished my US airborne force…..including some armor support. Not sure if I want to double my forces but if they come with a Japanese starter force, then I’m in.
Interesting Idea @brennon , WW2 Killteam, I remember their were some games systems for squad vs squad and old Airfix 1/32nd scale figs were used(they were new then) Have a feeling I have a recent set by the original authors of BA for such a game.
This might interest some who want small scale WW2
